A ton of people had him pegged as someone who could easily making 2-3 million, so I'd imagine it's a bit perplexing he's making league minimum. Might have to do with injuries and/or personality.

if he clears waivers (because he has to to be assigned to the AHL) then its a steal for WSH. unfortunately i dont know if he'll clear so i think that it'll be a steal for whoever claims him if he's sent down

No complaints. Especially after his breakout season last year

He was also great in 66 games Last year? I know which sample size I'd value more.

Good contract, (I mean it’s league min) the caps need someone with all those injuries.

I'm not entirely sold on Milano. Think he was 99% just a product of Zegras, but it's still a very good gamble at that price.

Seems like a great deal. I'm a little surprised there's no performance bonuses.

Performance bonuses can only be applied in limited circumstances. I’m sure there’s a list on the site, but my general understanding is they can be applied in only 3 situations:
- Player is 35+
- Player is on an ELC
- Player signs contract after missing most/all of previous season due to injury

Milano wouldn’t fall into any of these ergo no performance bonuses.

I think it would be more more fun to have performance bonuses available on most/all contracts. If only to see the cap hell (with carryover overages) teams would get themselves into trying to finagle players in under the cap. 😈

So why did he need to accept league min after last year? Is he an asshole that no one wants to play with or something? I feel like something is missing

People on Twitter have told me that Milano is a jerk in the locker room. I don't know how true that is, but it's a potential data point nonetheless.

I’m not convinced Milano is anything other than a too hyped up product of Zegras, but given the Caps lost Leason and AJF to waivers, I don’t think anyone should mind adding a bit of extra depth to compliment Lapierre and Borgstrom in Hershey. At league minimum, this really can’t be anything other than a win for DC, as at worst he gets claimed and it’s a wash.

I wonder if the could signal a bigger move though, Possibly the end of Eller? The pieces could be there for his departure.

Honestly I think he picked the wrong team to PTO for. He's not skilled enough to replace anyone in the top 6 and not gritty/physical enough to replace anyone in the bottom 6. They've got AHL options to make up the depth.

Even with the rumors about his personality / injures / whatever, teams take flyers on worse players. Sutter just wasn't impressed with him.

Its gotta be something. His on ice production has certainly been better than league min signing after the season starts
