I am still shocked that Gaudreau didn't pick your Devils. CBJ has some forward talent, but not with the upside that they have in Newark

In all fairness I forgot to include 1st rounders and I don’t feel like fixing it (in part because Vancouver fans are ridiculous and im living for it

Severson is a pending UFA. The reason we need a good RHD is to play him with Hughes. Trading Hughes would further destroy our defense. Bratt is also on a one year deal and is going to command a lot. You also have to factor in the fact that Vancouver doesn't even have cap space to make this deal. Hughes makes under 8 mil. Severson and Bratt together make almost 10 mil which means the Canucks lose even more cap space. The picks aren't enough to make the Canucks say yes. For a franchise player like Hughes, fair value is not enough to pry him out of Vancouver. He is our defense cornerstone. Would you do Horvat, Garland, Rathbone and two firsts for Jack Hughes? I would think not.
