You don't move out Hanifin for a rental pending UFA.

Kane to Calgary seems like a great fit though.

Coronato, 2023 1st, 2024 2nd, 2025 2nd would be a solid package for Kane at half retention.

I don't think Hanifin would even be what Chicago wants, especially at the TDL, Hanafin is UFA after next season and Chicago will still be rebuilding

This is a very poor trade asset management wise and doesn't even take advantage of the deadline cap space

Are you high?

A top prospect, a 1st and two 2nds for a rental?

That's borderline Eichel return. Get outta town.

From CAL, Kane gets: 2023 first, a prospect like Schwindt, and a 2nd for retention - no more. CHI can kick rocks.

this is also just a terrible trade offer. Trading a top pairing cost controlled dman for a rental who won't re-sign in calgary. Much less adding a top prospect and a first in a stacked draft class. Terrible.

This is a bad trade for CGY with Hanifin in it.

Kane will be worth a lot more than most rentals because of his resume, he's still at the top of his game. There has never been a rental player anywhere near the level of Kane, one of the greatest American players ever.

Did you see what Hampus Lindholm went for last year at the deadline? see - https://www.capfriendly.com/trades/players/hampus-lindholm

Kane is a legit super star. We don't see many players of Kane's caliber become available almost ever. He will get a very very big package.

Hampus signed an extension at a team friendly rate. Anaheim also took back a bad contract. Chicago isn't taking back a bad deal here and Kane isn't re-signing. Horrible move for CAL.

Would you give up Reilly, Knies, and a first for kane?
