laugh laugh Chevy would block Hughes number on the Pierre-Luc Dubois trade, Josh Anderson has negative value you'd have to pay up big time to unload on the contract. You'd be lucky to get a 3rd round pick for Christian Dvorak. And Kidney isn't enough.

Dubois can stay in WPG or go elsewhere. I wouldn't trade my dirty socks for him.

Montreal fans really don’t want to hear or believe that Anderson is a negative asset with a -1.6.SPAR after last year and a -3.3 the year previous.

Well when you're a very bad team, that generally means you have lots of bad players with little value on it

Zero chance Winnipeg does that. Why would they accept a cap dump and far less than Dubois would get as a rental in return?

Why TF do the Jets do this? Take on 10m for an, albeit good 3C and an overpaid M6 winger. Kidney is a decent prospect but he most certainly doesn’t fill the gap that the previous 2 players bring with those contracts.
While I don’t think that PLD has the upside that some Jets poster here think he does, he would definitely get a better return at the deadline (if the Jets are out) or as a 1 year rental next off season without taking back 10M. Hell, I’d rather use him for the next 2 years as our own rental and lose him for nothing than take back what’s been offered here

Edmonton doesn't do the first trade

Montreal just straight up laughs at the idea of the Winnipeg trade lol

Don't think Pit takes in another 30+ dman

That would generally be the assumption, an incorrect assumption but indeed it would generally be the assumption.

While I agree that the EDM trade has an imbalance, it's nowhere near as imbalanced as you're making it out to be.

A pairing of Rutta and Savard sounds pretty decent honestly. But we also don’t have the cap space and I don’t think we’re really looking to add another dman

No, it is. An overpaid 3rd line winger who cant defend or score all that much and a bottom pairing defender is like a pair of 4ths and some salary back kind of value.

Your assessment of both players is incorrect.

Evans is on a contract that is just fine, not everyone is overpaid. He is an energy and team player, I'd rather keep him anyway.

Edmundson is a veteran leader and would slot in on the second pair. He would improve the defense.

The 1st is a bit ambitious; I'd drop it to a 2nd and probably add a 4th or 5th coming from MTL but that's about it.

If I put a Leaf on the front of their sweater, would they be worth more?

Evans is a near 2 million dollar 4th liner. Hes ocer paid
Edmundson doesnt slot into any 2nd pair on a good team because he's a 3rd pairing defender and he makes 3.5 mill and is currently out with back issues. Hes overpaid and hurt.
If you put a leaf on the front of their sweater id beg you to get them the hell off my team

The guy is good at hockey...both sides of the ice. He would improve any team he plays for as a 2C.

I'm not arguing that, just sick of the PLD to MTL trade proposals when it doesn't make sense given the current timelines.

Habs won't give up a kings ransom for him and Jets want a kings ransom for him. If he really wants to be in MTL he'll come if/when he becomes a UFA and MTL is closer to competing. Hence why I won't trade my dirty socks for him, it would literally screw MTL to acquire him at this point.
