Toffoli’s Too Slow. Try Adam Ruzicka or Matthew Phillips At 1RW Against Vegas. They’d Do Better In The Lineup Than Trevor Lewis IMO

They should try a few people there. I think they have one of the highest probabilities of landing Patrick Kane before the deadline. Seems like a perfect fit in my mind. Will be costly, but I think they should go for it. This is an all in team.

That would be nice, but in the meantime till the Trade Deadline, should we pick up a low cost gamble or look internally!?

Ruzicka & Matthews have proven themselves as Top-6 Players who can score in the AHL, let’s see how that Translates in the NHL

I know it’s only 2 games but Toffoli and the 3rd Line are Struggling, so try Phillips out since he’s already been put through waivers and can be sent back down without going through that process again within 30 days, I think that’s right 🤔!?

It should not be anyone internal but Mangiapane, Toffoli or the eventual Coronato. Ruzicka should prove he can play 3rd line with Backlund and Coleman before we ever consider him in the top 6. He hasn't done that yet.

Calgary doesn't land big name deadline players, you can probably strike it off now on them getting Nyqvist, Donskoi, or JVR. As much as I would love to see them pick up one of Kane, Pasta or Pavs it just probably won't happen

I don't see how the past will dictate the future. This team is as complete as any team in the league. They have one hole in their top 9. Kane would make this an almost perfect team in my mind. I assume Kane would waive to Calgary for the year also. They have a fantastic team.

Mang-Kadri-Dube is our best line, no need to break it up

Ruzicka & Phillips are offensive players, not Checkers and Shut Down Specialists, they could gel and play better with Lindholm & Huberdeau. Toffoli is decent Defensively and will add scoring to the 3rd line

I’m not opposed to Ruzicka simply replacing Lewis at 3RW as well though. They tried him at LW but now try him at RW

What about Martin Frk. He’s obviously a Top Scoring Czech. I wonder if Brett Sutter would give him the vote of approval. I’m willing to try anything at this point and this seems low cost, no risk or high reward

Phillips simply isn't good enough to be a legitimate top 6 NHLer, Ruzicka 100% has the tools to be a bottom 6 forechecker.

It's been 2 games and Darryl was very critical of both Dube and Mang in the last game, calling that pur best line and "no need to break up" is fairly shortsighted. Toffoli could very easily mesh just fine with Dube and Kadri

We don’t truly know that since Phillips has never been given the chance

Sutter wasn’t necessarily critical, he said they could have been better support to Kadri, all 3 are contributing. If Toffoli can’t keep up to Huberdeau & Lindholm, he won’t keep up to Kadri & Dube. Use Toffoli as a Power Play and Veteran Shut Down Specialist with Coleman & Backlund who share the same pace

I can tell already Toffoli’s not gonna work out 5on5, so let’s see who will. The alternative is:

Huberdeau-Kadri-Lindholm
Toffoli-Dube-Mangiapane

Give Dube credit he’s looking much stronger this year. Harder to knock off the puck and he’s winning puck battles against the boards. Try Dube at 1RW

Hmm I’ve been looking to try and acquire Toffoli in fantasy, should I not? Is he not guaranteed top 6 deployment/top pp?

This guy is the worst.. I told him that trading Calgary's middling prospects plus Lucic and Dube was not the way to go get Jason Robertson, I was told to hop off the bandwagon cause I'm not a true Flames fan! Haha, you must significantly over value everything Flames if you want to be a fan! Hence his dog shirt opinions regarding Matthew Phillips.
