Definitely an option, but I don't like Jokiharju & Bryson together bc they are both a defensive liability IMO. I think a guy like a Severson would really solidify the top 4 for several years, assuming they could re-sign him of course!

Are you suggesting that Jokiharju is better than Power? Regardless of that they look like a mess together IMO, swap Joki in for Bryson, rotate the 5,6,7 guys, or do whatever you've gotta do, but giving Power the best chance to be an extremely successful defenseman is more important to me than Joki's minutes and I think pairing him with a guy like Severson would be very helpful to him

Seems a little reactionary to scratch a pairing just because the first 2 games were rough for a guy who only played 8 other nhl games, last year.
The whole team looked off, a lot of individual efforts, lost coverage and all around loose play. I would say team inexperience and/or poor preperation and execution by coaching staff who didnt realize preseasons over is your target problem, not joker and power.
At least five them the same 8 games they had last year ;p.

I'd rather keep olofsson. Play dahlin with Samuelsson, power with lybushkin, and bryson/pilut with jokiharju. I'm not a big jokiharju fan, honestly I think I'm just tired of the smooth skating offensive defenseman, the guy that sucks in his own end and puts up no offense, but some advanced stats disciple insists is really good because, stats. We are giving up too many high danger chances, Samuelsson can help dahlin clean up our end, lybushkin can help power. The third pair is gonna give the goalies night terrors, but hopefully it's only for 10 minutes a game. I do like olofsson, I don't wanna move him yet, plus nobody wants to give up a decent right shot d, so jersey is gonna say no anyways.

Last season the Panthers out scored the Sabres 15 - 7 during the last two months of the season when the Sabres were playing well.
The Sabres never gave up and were in the game right up to the very end.
Two games into an NHL season and ten games into Powers NHL career we are going to panic about the play of a 19 year old LHD.
When Don Granato gives him less ice time, we can discuss making big changes.
It is obvious Owen is putting too much pressure upon himself and is trying to do too much.
I am certain Don will get him going again.
Let's remember, Power and Jokiharju pairing were not on the ice for either of the Panthers even strength goals.
On the other hand with only 10 minutes even strength ice time, Bryson was on the ice for both of Florida's goals.
Mishandling a pass behind the net led a turn over and White's goal and failing to tie up Tkachuk's stick led to the second.

I get it Power and Jokiharju have terrible Corsi results, but they are both +6 collectively, they must be doing something correct.

I can definitely see how this can be viewed as a reactionary post by me, but it more is coming from my philosophy behind team building & development. Put young guys in a position to succeed and give them somebody to rely on and that can help them. Right now it feels like both Joki & Power are struggling a bit without having that person to lean on.

I would tend to agree with you especially as its so early in the season and the Devils are expecting to at least be close to pushing for a playoff spot, but come TDL time if they can't get Severson extended and they are out of the playoff race for all intents and purposes is a middle six scoring winger (@2.35 for one more year) and a high second something thats not completely unreasonable?

I think they would just keep Severson.
If they sell him at deadline, it will likely be for futures.
