For Murray its just Robertson and Kallgren being sent back down with Simmonds and Mete being waived for reassignment with Marlies

For Liligren its one of Holl, Engvall, or Kerfoot getting traded

    Thats really it

Engvall definitely ain't going to St. Louis. They're quite happy with Acciari, thanks.

Teams will exploit Toronto in any trade involving Holl because Toronto is desperate to dump cap, the 4th is going in the wrong direction

Im sure some team will have a large enough injury within the next 4 weeks to want to make the Holl trade.

Holl is always good at 2m. Half the time you get a 4m defender. That seems like good value to me.

id rather give the young guys his spot. they need to play. only other thing they can do is take muzzin out of the lineup by sneaking him onto ltir or trading him, but he has to waive his NMC

Dubas won't trade Muzzin. Holl most likely rotates in and out depending on schedule or health. Dubas would be stupid to move him.

If Leafs have no ltir (doubtful) I think Engvall would be the first on the block.

Just wanted to add one caveat to my prediction of Engvall on the block. He missed camp and I think that is contributing to the slow start. He has 4 weeks to secure a spot on this team. It could be any one of Engvall, kerfoot or Holl being moved (if it comes to that) depending on their performance in the next 4 weeks.

Nope, taking Engvall 10/10. Bigger, faster, better.

Simmons and his 900,000 doesn't affect the cap at all.
Trouble with trading 2m Holl, is that the Leafs really don't have a 7th NHL Dman. Mete and Benn and their 750,000 were on waivers with no takers.
Not having Engvall, saving maybe 1.3mif you think Robertson or Steeves can be competent now, if the Leafs can trade him without cap being returned.

Leafs can take a contract back but it needs to be something that can be buried completely. (Which I consider zero dollars back) that should give us 1.5m in cap with Robertson in the lineup.

Live having Simmonds in this team. Since he has cleared waivers it is great having him up with the team. But only possible if leafs have ltir.

Best thing might be is Murray stays on LTIR. Simmons....agree he can play at least some games with the Leafs. The Leafs might have Simmons just play home games with the Marlies....Simmons might like that and be Leaf ready later.

In believe Murray will return but if he is re injured in short order it may be time to pull the plug permanently.

I do agree though. Murray would be best on ltir. Leafs can look for an upgrade at TDL if needed.

Not a chance they go take extra cap for the 4C slot, especially for a rental. Cmon, man.

It's worth it to eat up most of the temp cap space, putting us over when either LTIR guy comes back, to "upgrade" a 4th line player they're already happy with? He's not even a center. 😕

Even when those guys come back, there will be ways to work around it. I suppose it could be an issue

Cant trade holl, when Keefe is playing him 20 minutes a night and sandin is down at about 14 minutes a night.

You think Keefe will play Liljegren 2nd pair minutes?

Moving deck chairs on the titanic if you are unwilling/unable to balance the attack/defense (last night matthews played 26+ mins, while 3 forwards played 6 or 7 minutes). Amazing to think they cant ice a team without a top 6 forward or top 4 dman going on LTIR. And having to move 2 or 3 okay players for no return, destroys the depth, nor does it fix whats not working.
