Depends on whether or not he can stay healthy, right now I would say a 3rd if we are lucky but if he returns soon and can stay healthy until the Deadline he should return a 1st+ 2nd (a bit better than Chiarot)

Get him healthy before you start moving him, because right now nobody's touching a guy who missed 2/3 of last year, and looks to be missing the first 1/3 of this year, with back problems.

Rangers also feel like a bad destination because they just don't have the cap space for him - he'd probably wind up a $3.5M LD3 behind K'Andre Miller & Ryan Lindgren, so not really a player I can see them aggressively targeting.

This is the correct answer. If we trade him injured i doubt we get much, but healthy, he could easily get a Chiarot-level return (imo he’s a better player too).

Probably close to this return but not from NYR

Damaged goods. Even when he gets back, he'd have to play months before anybody considers.
Untrade him... to show his remaining term!

Jake Evans would make more sense for NYR, right?

He would. C isn’t a position of need. We actually need a good LW to play with Chytil and Kravs. Or even a RW to push Kravs to LW. I don’t see anything around a D man unless it’s a rental 5-7th that has Hajek going back as part of the package.

2 years at 3.5 ... it's a great contract ... And he is actually skating with the therapeutic team so closer to return than Matheson out for 8 weeks.

I can see Kings goes for Edmundson for a faire price. Something around Walker and Grans + a little something. I wonder if Hrenak is available.

We have no need for any more Defenseman (let alone the fact we have no cap space to spare).

It’s not what the Rangers want/need. Wrong destination for sure

Montreal has an excess of wingers. For the equivalent of Hajek cap RW Jesse Ylonen is NHL ready. However I doubt Montreal would want to add another LHD who is not waiver exempt (Ylonen is waiver exempt).

Ya, I think NYR will target Domi/AA from CHI

Rangers pass. 1. We don't have the cap space for him and 2. He probably wouldn't crack our top 6D.

No team will pay this much. I’d look elsewhere if this was the price for an injured player who’s been out for so long
