Edmonton gets a young right shot defenseman that can play solid D and above Ceci.
New Jersey gets a veteran on the right side that can quarterback their second pp unit along with a couple picks.

Going by the other trades NJ made this offseason it says that they are more focused on winning right now then continuing this long standing rebuild. We arent so much about accumulating picks as we are trying to find the right players to take us to the next level. Severson could net us a better player at the deadline if we decide to make a run for the playoffs by then, or just ship him off to a contender who is, either way that package would still be better then the garbage you just suggested. Nice try though
