Doubt Isles do that. Also seems like a price that we simply can't afford.

So Isles who are in win-now mode trades one of the best young defenseman in the league for the chance of getting lucky with the picks in 5 years from now and hoping Lekkerimäki is good in 3 years?

No he has not. Lou doesn’t trade elite players he drafted.

I'd have to say Canucks fans on here, generalising, are getting close to tying Habs fans rather than the smartest......unless we're talking dress sense, though green spandex does seem to be a thing in Vancouver so perhaps not even then. Regardless, there is probably zero chance the Isles do this, and would also be pretty poor asset management on the part of the Canucks too.

The Islanders aren't trading Adam Pelech (#1 LhD).
The Islanders aren't trading Ryan Pulock (#1 RhD).
The Islanders aren't trading Alexander Romanov (#2 LhD).
The Islanders aren't trading Noah Dobson (#2 RhD).
When you have a top-4 defense that is first class and under team control until 2027 AT THE EARLIEST, you don't trade one of the four (unless you luck into someone even better in the draft along the way).
And even if Dobson were surplus to the Islanders' needs, why would they trade a 22-year-old player who is a top-4 defenseman NOW for two prospects who won't be NHL-ready until 2023-2024, a 2024 first who won't be NHL-ready until 2025, and a 2025 first who won't be NHL-ready until 2026?
