Description
I've made an ACGM similar to this before, but made a couple of adjustments this time around.
I think a move like this for Toews solves every problem the pens have at the moment. (outside of being the oldest team in the NHL, haha)
- Would remove the fourth line salary of McGinn who is not playing to his salary
- He'll make the bottom six a much bigger scoring threat
- He move's Carter into a role where he is more suited and will get a reduced ice time so the season doesn't wear him down as much
- He win's important faceoffs and is very defensively sound and can play against other teams best
- He kills penalties which is a huge struggle for this team at the moment
- Knows how to win and has a ton of playoff experience and is a proven playoff performer
- He can move into the top six at pretty much any position and be productive in case of injury
- Allows the pens to remove one of there 1-way defenseman contracts (POJ)
- Is good in shootouts where the pens really struggled last season

I think its a pretty fair deal for The Hawks as well.
- Gives them a good return for a pending UFA who has a NTC which will limit their return
- A second rounder is probably fair just for Toews himself with retention given the NTC, Maybe put a Stanley Cup win condition that could turn the pick into a first rounder
- A couple B to B+ prospects to take on McGinn's contract
- McGinn is a solid roster player, just a bit overpayed, which they will need a couple of after they sell off Toews, Kane, Domi, Anthanasiou, and potentially JJ, Khaira, and Murphy and he can then be flipped in the future for more assets that better fit their rebuild timeline if they want

I believe toews value could be this by the deadline but right now it'd be an overpay. Take out poj or take out legare and change the 2nd to a 1st
