Thoughts on Kane

Description
I'm not against getting Kane, he would add a huge boost to this top 6. But after thinking it through I don't think he is the best option. I would really consider guys like Bertuzzi, Larkin, Anthanasiou. My biggest worry about this team is speed. I think we will struggle against the younger, faster teams, so if I were Hextall I would try and get 1-2 speedy players at deadline. Bertuzzi is perfect for what this team needs. Larkin is extremely fast and so is Anthanasiou. Drop some mock trades for all 3.

We absolutely do not need him and we don’t have the resources for that trade.

Are you talking about Kane? I'm not against getting him, but I don't know if he's what the team needs.

Me too. I miss him and what he brings to the team. He has great speed and because brown is down we need a replacement on the fourth line because sheary is playing on the first line now. And hags is an amazing pk guy and great forechecker

Outsider here...so admitting that up front. Wasn't KK supposed to provide that speed you're talking about?

To the other posts... truly honest question...what's better about this team that last year's? Is Petry THAT much better than Marino?

Petrey is definitely an upgrade 100%. Forward core basically the same except Rakell here for whole year now. Ty Smith I think will be very good too. It's a similar team, but more physical on the blue line, which was one of our weaknesses. Kapanen has a ton of speed, but needs to put it all together, seems like he might be.

Vitali Krastov, Sam Gagner, Vinnie Hinostroza, As outside options but I think they should play Poulin first

There’s plenty of speed in the minors. The problem is we don’t have the quality type of assets to even acquire any star player. Honestly the same was said about Pittsburgh last playoffs and as much as I hate saying it, if Sid didn’t get injured we would’ve had a potentially longer playoff run. But the worst happened and we lost to the Rangers.

As of right now there’s no necessary changes need unless if a top 6 player goes down for the remainder of the year. Which im hoping Guentzel has a fast recovery and that it’s something not to be too worried about.

The only change I would consider is adding a bottom 6 player. Like Anthanasiou or Armia, something like that

I don't think the Pens have what the Hawks want for Kane.
I don't think Detroit is trading Larkin or Bertuzzi. They are on the rise.

As far as AA. He probably gets a 3rd round pick at the deadline.
