Playoff Season

Description
Honestly think this roster will be a playoff roster if only we get the goaltending and make the coaching change. Unless Ruff goes on a tear the rest of the season gotta go with B.Reaves, Palat Parise, will add a vet skill set where they all know there role and what they need to do and lead the locker room. I won't be mad about Parise playing a final season in NJ before he hangs the skates up, the guy still produces and can slot in a top line if needed.

Cap could be $86.5 million ($4 million more than what is listed)

Sharangovich 3 x $2,500,000 --> 5 x $4.25 million
Severson 3 x $5,000,000 --> 8 x $6.25 million
Bratt 5 x $6,000,000 --> 8 x $8 million
Pastrnak 6 x $11,000,000 --> 7 x $10 million

That is an additional $4 million

Only for Cap space if needed. Would keep him as a back up but if we can sign a goalie to carry the load i.e Jarry or Andersen. 3 mil is a lot for a back u if you can put it on forming 4 decent lines and great D depth.

Would be nice but will probably be used anyway. Personally think we will get lucky if we can sign Pasta, whatever it cost which likely will be at 11. Would love to keep Sevo to keep up with the speed of the team but at around 6.5 idk

My biggest gripe was really with terms. Pierre Lebrun said last week that Severson was looking for max term (7-8 years). Imagine both Bratt and Pastrnak get that as well (if they want it). Sharangovich, let’s wait and see.

Also, how well would Parise be revived if we brought him back? Lotta mixed feelings there.

Personally I would welcome him back. I think the writing was on the wall when he left everyone knew he wanted to playoff his childhood team and the team his dad played for. Cant blame a man for that and he didn't have to take a paycut. Heard during his signing he was still considering staying til the last minute too. Honestly things worked out we have a deep pool of young players and he can still keep up with them. Don't see a reason not to sign him or give him a tryout unless he stays with Lou and Palms

If Sevo looks for Max terms let him go no need for him for 7-8 years. but if he is willing as he has stated he wanted to be apart of seeing this through keep him he can still make the right passes to jumpstart the O and isn't a D liability.

San Jose isn’t acquiring a 56th goaltender for their roster, not worth taking on his cap at all

Send him anywhere. Only for cap purposes if they sign a solid starter

The cap a minimum would be $83,500,000. But Bettman said that if the escrow is paid off this season. Then it could climb to $86,500,000 for the 2023/2024 NHL season.
I doubt that David Pastrnak takes anything less than 7 x $12,000,000 reportedly he wants the Panarin deal.
And Damon Severson will get around 8 x $6,250,000 or the Travis Sanheim and the MacKenzie Weegar deal.
Don't see Tom Fitzgerald trading Vitek Vanecek anytime soon.
