You do remember that Trouba was just named their captain right?... They're not trading him even if he would waive.

Trouba is our captain and is an elite top-4 dman, especially in playoffs. Unless someone like Power, Dahlin, Quinn, or Krebs comes to NYR, there is no reason to consider.

Trouba was just named Rangers Captain.

There's a zero chance he waives his NMC from a better Rangers team to Buffalo.

And i don't see his Wife leaving New York City for Buffalo. She has no local ties to that area.

I want you to look at the first 2 names you listed and then walk in front of a mirror and take a long hard look at what you see and then go outside for a walk.

Okay. Looked at the names and am back from my walk.

Now you go to mirror and say, "Henri Jokiraju for Jacob Trouba" ten times without laughing.

I freely admitted I didn't know he was captain.

Good luck with the cap next year, you guys have a great team and it will be tough to work out.

Thats funny, because Darcy Tucker was on the last Leafs team to win a play off series, 18 years ago.

177 blocked shots and 207 hits, only player in NHL to do that last season. 11 goals, 39 points, +25, and 22+ minutes a game ice time, along with a number of huge LEGAL hits that turned around games in the Rangers favor, stands up for himself and teammates anytime and every time, and a mentor to Miller and the rest of the Rangers D. There isn't a GM or coach in the NHL that wouldn't love to have him on their team.

It's a good thing you post trades for team you obviously don't watch or keep track of.

I am ashamed. I am going to write down the captains and assistant captains of every single team and commit them to memory.

Forget my family, forget my job, this is more important.

loving to have a player is a lot different than being elite lol. using plus/minus is quite literally the worst argument ever. That is literally the worst stat ever created. Hits arent useful in any stat. But here is what is important: 91st in WAR last year (and his TOI inflated that so on a per/60 hes even worse) among defenseman, T-98 in xWAR, had a -1.8 defensive WAR which was good for 312th among all defenseman who played in 21-22, he was quite literally worse than a replaceable defenseman defensively. I dont care about hits when those hits hurt the team more than they help. He is nowhere near the word elite.

You can mention stuff like him being a leader or whatever, but that is not what makes someone elite. He is an average to above average defenseman who is severely overpaid.

LOL. What matters is WINNING and Trouba helps them WIN. Hits matter, ask Crosby and Pens fans about that, turned that whole series around. Leadership matters. Blocking shots matters. Scoring more than you get scored on matters. Every team would want him at his current salary, so your argument is silly, and I'm not going to play semantics with you about the meaning of a word. Bottom line is the Rangers are not trading him and very HAPPY them have him.

The point is you should AT LEAST have a clue about what you're posting, but sure, take it to a ridicules point if you want.

Yea, I do have a clue. Trouba is a solid, but overpaid player and the NYR have a massive cap crunch. He has prioritized playing near where his wife can excel at her career.

So I used both facts to conjure a trade. I still think NYR should try to trade him, but I did not see where he was named captain. I suppose that makes it less likely.

So, again, I am off to retreat to rethink and plan my entire life around knowing every player in the league and if they wear a letter. My wife has filed for divorce and full custody and will likely get it now that this is my chosen path.

trouba does in fact NOT help them win. He is a replacement-level player. That is not up for debate. We have computers and AI that calculate player performance and we know that Trouba is a slightly above offensively and significantly below replacement level defensively. You are just wrong that he is good defensively. Like you are factually incorrect.

Also, blocked shots is stupid argument. You can block shots and be bad or not block shots but be elite defensively. The best defensive defenseman use their stick to prevent passes and high danger chances through positioning, Trouba does not. These stats are not semantics, they are exactly what they appear to be: stats. They are not debatable. the only counterargument to them is that they are not the best stats to use, not your argument which is essentially you saying that you do not care.

I am not saying the rangers will trade him lol. They couldnt if they wanted to because of his NMC.

Gee, there is one team that can't chirp Toronto about playoff success and it's Buffalo. No playoffs since 2010-11. That's more than a decade. Poverty franchise at its finest.

Pure nonsense. I watch every Ranger game every year and Trouba absolutely helps them win. You and your stats are wrong.

How can you say Trouba is overpaid when you clearly don't watch Ranger games? How do you know how he plays?

He was named captain, that means he is likely being traded, according to recent NYR history. But since he has to okay the trade that makes moving him much harder.

I know what I SEE. If you watch Ranger games and don't think Trouba helps them win, then you don't know hockey.
