Him being good last year in 5v5 situations doesn’t help in the future. What is he doing this year? Not much. Almost 5 million to be a 3rd liner who’s only good at 5v5 on a cap strapped team. I’m sure the team could find way more effective ways to use that. Especially for 4 years.

His 5v5 production over the last 3 years is top 6 quality. In fact he is 33rd among forwards during that span in 5v5 points. That's top line production. He has more 5v5 goals and points than Rust in that time. You don't think the Pens could use another top 6 scoring winger who can produce at even strength?
Oh and considering 85% of the game is played at 5v5, it is really important to be good there.

You’ve given literally nothing outside of insults. I’m sorry you have selective reading though.

I have given you facts. Plain and simple. Garland is a top 5v5 producer in the league making less than 5 mil a year. If you want to close your eyes and plug your ears and refuse anything people say, fine do that

If you are seriously using a 6 game sample size to back your argument, you have a serious problem

He’s literally playing on the 3rd line in this acgm. I’m sure the pens would love to have 12 top 6 forwards that could score at will in general. You can cherry pick stats all you want but I’d rather have players who make that much be proficient in more than just 1 area of the game. Like you said…85% of the game is played 5v5. I’d sure hope he scores most of his points at 5v5. Most players will. You said that even though you said Garland had better 5 v 5 numbers than guys like McDavid, Draisaitl, Barkov, Pasta, etc that it doesn’t mean he’s better than those guys. So wouldn’t you rather have one of those guys than Garland?

Valeri Nichuskin is the best player in the NHL am I right? Using a 6 game sample size is foolish compared to using an entire seasons worth.

No Connor McDavid is. Your comment makes zero sense.

Nichuskin is one of the top scorers in the league right now less than 10 games into the season. I am trying to tell you have a 6 game sample size is literally meaningless over the course of an 82 game season

It's not worth it. This kid clearly has a lot of shcooling to get through before he learns proper reading and comprehension.

They haven’t played an 82 game season yet. Garland has only played 6 games so far this year. I’m judging him based on what he’s done so far this year. Why would any team trade a big price for someone whose struggling? McDavid has more points than Nischuskin so your comment still makes zero sense and is a terrible comparison.

Conor Garland struggling? Do you even know what you are talking about? Just a couple games ago, Nichuskin was leading the league in scoring. You are so ignorant it is unbelievable. I refuse to believe that you aren't trolling. No point in arguing with somebody who not only makes false claims, but has nothing to back up any of them. Absolutely shameful

2 goals in 6 games for someone whose supposed to be elite at 5v5 scoring is yes, bad. And what does a couple games ago have to do with now? Again it’s a bad comparison. The only one making false claims is you and just because I disagree with your ridiculous cherry picking of stats and bias doesn’t mean I am stating falsehoods and not backing up what I’m saying. Again sorry you have selective reading skills but 🤷‍♂️

3 goals in 8 games. It’s only 8 games into the season. You do realize that he is scoring at a 30 goal pace right? Absolute troll job

Oh wow, I’m sure this 16 games is a much better indicator than the past couple seasons. He isn’t a goal scorer, but he’s still very productive

Yes a 15 goal pace for someone making 4.95 million a year is totally productive 😂
