Initial Creation Date: Oct. 26, 2022
Published: Oct. 26, 2022

Description
- sworn enemies trade
- would this work, if so or not so, why so?
- I removed it, the idea was Krieder and 2nd for Bratt + Mcleod. Which was way way off value wise. But we live and learn

LMAO...no...it doesn't make sense for the Devils. Simply crazy.

Devils trade a guy in his prime for an extended contract leaving his best years...no...

...also, all based on an Allstar game is hilarious

I strongly expected NJD and NYR fans to disapprove, so I am not chocked over comments like this. I also understand the dislike for this trade smile
I just thought him and Hughes would be epic, and still playing well despite the age of 31 years.

Now sure how often trading a 24 playing his best hockey for a 31yr old really ever works out for the team getting the older player...this reeks of Rangers bias.

Mutant proposal Bratt is a 24 year old up and coming superstar and McLeod is a solid bottom 6 forward for a 2nd and a going on 32 year old 20-25 goal scorer who shot over 20% last year literally bananas the justification people have on here for these asinine ideas

The Rangers should have sold of Kreider this off season. Never had a 30 goal season and then pops off for 52, shoulda sold high on that asset.

This trade isn't close though. Bratt is the better player by a mile and is second in league scoring this year.

If any team wants Bratt, it is gonna cost a significant amount
If the Rangers want Bratt, it is gonna cost an extreme amount
If the Rangers want Bratt and want to dump Kreiders contract which is gonna age terribly, oh boy

That's an impossible trade to sell to a fan base (and team for that matter!) though, right? Like, yes, many of us are big time prospect huggers and all of that, but if you're a contending team that's just coming off an appearance in the ECF, you absolutely don't trade Kreider. Will he ever duplicate that? Pretty unlikely. Will his value ever be the same? Also unlikely. Do you make the ECF without him? Very, very unlikely.

Ow it's an impossible trade to the fan base for sure. They'd have had to win the trade by a landslide with a first and high high end prospect. Just don't see Kreider working out in the long run but will help them contend for the next couple years

Kreider has a full NMC. They can't just move him.

I agree 100% that Kreider's fall off is going to be as dramatic when it happens as it was when his breakout happened, but I think contending over the next couple of years is wayyyyyy more important than picks and prospects. Prospects and picks are for peasants, not contenders. Plus, if there's any team that knows about prospects not living up to the hype, it's the Rangers.

"up and coming" and "superstar" are two different things.
really nice player - yes.
superstar - pump the brakes.

I belief it is just the trajectory of a player, that based on what he has been doing, that is the direction he is going. Sorry this has offended you so of the idea a player might be headed that way.

Breakout PPG season last year at 23 and tied for league lead in points currently cant be classified as up and coming superstar? Also has some of the best advanced stats in the league over the last 2 seasons

Bratt is legit. I don't think calling him a budding superstar is a stretch at all.

The list of better RWs his age is quite brief.

Kreider's strength is our biggest need. So the idea is not a bad one. Would have to find right return and get over the NJD-NYR never trade thing.

no offense taken.
just my opinion that the term superstar should not be thrown around - that is for the likes of the McDavid, Mac, Sid and Matthews types.

I think Kreider has earned the right to retire as a Ranger and I see management letting it happen.
