Well he's definitely leaving. No point in staying in Chicago. And why would he come to Devils? Because we're one of the best young teams in the league on the rise. Most "cup contenders" don't even have the cap to take on Kane. Tell me which team can take on Kane's 7-8m next year in FA without moving out some significant contracts? Leafs, Avs, Canes, Panthers, Lightning, Oilers, Rangers? All of these teams are already squeezed by the cap with few expiring contracts. Devils have Tatar, Johnsson, Wood, and Bernier all potentially coming off the books. That's 15.2m off the books. Kane would also see the benefit of playing next to another star in Hughes who almost plays the same exact game as Kane. Kane would probably go for 40 goals next to Hughes

Patrick Kane isn't signing for no 3 yr $21,000,000 try more like 4-5 yrs @ $8,000,000 to $8,500,000 per he's not taking much less than what he's currently making. He's still about a PPG player.
