Soucy can actually play RD, so when Brodie's contract is up, he goes, Liligren slides to pair with Reilly, Soucy will pair with Sandin, with Mayfield being half of the bottom pair in 23-24.

See your point, but...... with a LD of Reilly, Sandin and Gio, it flat out lacks the physicality that I would want. All for a mobile defense, but that has to be balanced.

And I really do think Bunting has priced himself out of Toronto. That is looking like Hyman money more by the day. Seems like Robertson is here to stay, Knies looks like he will at least get a very long look. Wood, adds a physical presence to the 3rd unit that I think blends well with Steeves work ethic and Jarnkrok's abilities.

You could be right. Given where Mayfield is on the Islander depth chart, his contract is difficult to gauge. Could see Manson money, conversely, could be seen as a fantastic 3rd pairing option that gets paid, yet, doesn't see that money.
