VAN should absolutely avoid any deal involving their 2023 1st, even if they win the rest of the trade.

Even Rutherford just said that more than likely Vancouver is heading towards a rebuild.

Zero chance that Pierre-Luc Dubois commits long term with Vancouver. Vancouvers 2023 1st round pick is probably going to be in the top 10. So Allvin isn't trading that pick other than the 1st rounder only decent piece is Horvat Pearson and Myers you can keep.

JR also said he wants RHD, which I've acquired. SO WHICH IS IT?

Horvat+2023 1st round pick top 10 = Pierre-Luc Dubois.

Pionk+DeMelo > Pearson+Myers.

And once again, Why would Winnipeg make this trade?

Winnipeg says no unless Horvat re-signs. We are weak on RD as it is and Myers is a 3rd pairing guy, we cant get rid of our #1 guy

This would have to be a three team trade so we can get another good RD at the same time

Who cares if Horvat was drafted at #9, Larkin was drafted at #15 and is country miles better than Horvat. Where you're drafted doesn't necessarily always mean the best.

I don't get it, what does it matter to the trade that Horvat was #9?

This is overall a pretty bad trade for the Jets.

Even with the first, this trade is awful for the Jets.

Yeah a potentially top 10 pick in the deepest draft in recent memory. No team in their right mind would move that pick. Depending on where Vancouver falls that pick might be Connor Bedard.

why? PLD aint helping Jets win. Pionk has two more seasons commitment. This helps WPG move forward with a prime asset while icing a full team in the meantime.

So is this bad for Jets or Van? Can't decide?!? if it doesnt fit you must acquit!

Honestly it's bad for both teams.

Pierre-Luc Dubois = Bo Horvat+2023 Vancouver 2023 1st round pick ( Potential top 10 pick ).

Pionk+DeMelo > Myers+Pearson.

PLD isn't helping Winnipeg win, but the 3 Canucks are helping Vancouver win? You may want to check their record.

Either way the Jets give up players with team control for a rental and two cap dumps. There's no logical reason for Winnipeg to downgrade their lineup. Even with adding the first to take Myers.

Dubois>>Horvat
Pionk>>>>>>>>>Myers
DeMelo>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Pearson.

I wouldn't say country miles. Lets be realistic here. Both have very similar production over their entire career and nearly identical production the last 3 years. Neither of them a great defensively. Both are captains of their respective teams. They are more alike than you think. Then again, their draft status doesn't mean anything which I agree

It is bad for both. Canucks aren't trading a 2023 first in a stacked draft. They also likely dont want Dubois as he will do nothing to improve our dressing room situation. That being said, the value is pretty bad for the Jets

The more I look at it, it feels like a W for WPG. They get a good 1st for PLD, who is gonzo. They reduce their commitment period overall. VAN gets RHD, but PLD is a big Q.

The only good asset WPG loses is PLD (gone anyway) and they get a good 1st for him.

Bo Horvat 372 points in 579 career games for an average of 0.64.2% per season.

Dylan Larkin 366 points in 510 career games for an average of 0.72% per season. Hardly call them comparable.

And Dylan Larkin is one of the top 200 foot players in the league, He is very sound defensively.
