Add Schenn to that Vancouver trade also. For the D depth.

So Demelo a 3rd pairing d-man on the jets is a top pairing guy on the leafs. How is that possible or is the jet's defense that elite?

If you want Schenn, add a 3rd, cause VAN isn't selling low on Horvat

I must say your unbridled enthusiasm is something to behold. No matter what, you still believe all the canuck players are amazing all stars worth piles of assets.

He was in the top 10 in defensive WAR while playing top pairing minutes last year, he’s not flashy but he’s very underrated by most on here.

Why would you expect Horvat to get more than a first and a good prospect? He's a good player but he's not a superstar

Its similar to when the leafs brought in lybushkin from zona last year. Its a stylistic fit where he'll play 15-16ish even strength minutes with rielly. Rielly will be double shifted with another partner when needing offense and get his normal 19ish even strength minutes.

I agree it's quite odd on the surface but it makes sense with the design of the d corps. I don't love the logic myself but that is what it is

The Jets aren't moving 2 years of a good top 4 defenseman for a rental, low end 7/8D and a mid 2nd, 2 drafts from now.

DeMelo additional one year makes him more valuable than the offer presented. Horvat, one yeah this grizzled NHL playoff perfomer....two playoffs years in his nine year contract. An unnecessary and too high a price for the Leafs to pay. Now does some team that may be missing a centre and wants another....now that makes more sense.

What I said does not equate to what you're claiming. You stretching the truth says more about you than it does me

You have to understand your own bias my friend. It's very strong, and that isn't a bad thing. You love the Canucks, I appreciate that. Just understand that and you'll be able to temper yourself a bit. All of us have varying degrees of bias but some it's so much worse than others.
