I don’t know what Gogolev did but he sure pissed off someone. Kinda hope he gets traded, he deserves another look in the AHL

Imagine he wins, then helps the gophers get the NCAA title, then signs his ELC and scores a playoff goal

That resume will be insane

Grebyonkin with a goal and assist so far today, it is his 6th goal and 19th point in 34 games since joining Amur in the KHL.

What a game, Grebyonkin with his 2nd goal of the game. Excellent read to jump into the lane to intercept that pass. Really nice finish on the breakaway

The question must be asked; is Grebyonkin the next Kaprizov?

SDA, Steeves, Rifai, Hoef all look so, so good. McMann and Holmberg are already making an impact. I love the ability of Dubas to go out and get a deep prospect pool without necessarily having an abundance of draft stock. Cannot wait to see Niemela and Hirvonen transition over to NA ice. Grebyonkin is going to be fun as well

Fans sleeping on Hirvonen shouldn’t, really hope he makes it past the deadline

Meh, I mean I’m pretty confident he’ll be an NHL player in some capacity, but I question the ceiling and he plays what’s definitely our most stocked position in the pipeline (not sure how much C he’s been playing)… wouldn’t lose sleep over him being moved

No question the depth on LW makes him expendable. I might just be a little higher on his projectable game at the NHL level than some of the other ones (Roberson/McMann)

Pellikka was always going to be a high pick, now someone who could be a late first round pick is David Reinbacher.

He’s looked good

We probably won’t have our 2023 1st (even if we did he probably doesn’t fall) but I want him on the Leafs 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

We have like zero LD prospects
I wonder what it would take acquire Viro from Wings, they have mad D prospects.

Is there another LD prospect that might flying under the radar?

You're right the Leafs might not have any LHD NHL prospects. But they do have Reilly and Sandin for years of control. LHD is one of the "easiest" positions to fill. I'd be more concerned with at centre with Matthews a UFA in 2024, maybe Kampf leaves in 2023, and Tavares as in 2025. Not sure if there are any NHL centre prospects in the Leaf system besides Minten.

Actually we technically do

Mikko Kokkonen is a guy who is defense first offense second. He could push for a third pair job in the future just dont expect much offense.

But hes not the only guy. There are 2 guys with the marlies who could make some noise

Raifai and Hoefenmayer

Of those 2 Raifai could honestly be in the NHL next year on the third pair.

Could use more but its not like we dont got any

There have been 8 AHL signed players that have made it to an ELC since Dubas arrived:

• Byron Froese
• Justin Holl
• Mason Marchment
• Kristians Rubins
• Pavel Gogolev
• Bobby McMann
• Curtis Douglas
• Keith Petruzzelli

I fully expect as do most who cover the Marlies that both Rafai and Hoefenmayer will make this list grow to 10 at the end of the year.

And Dubas also has a good eye for NCAA Talent that he gives deals right off the bat and they work out nicely

Moore and Steeves being classic examples

From watching them Raifai honestly could be a #6 with time. Hes got all the tools just needs more time

Joe Woll unfortunately had his win streak snapped last night. But made a couple of ten bell saves in the game.

Hell of a run, stick taps

Can't link his tweets, but there's an impressive statline as noted by @brigstew86:

#LeafsForever prospect Nikita Grebyonkin is on a bit of a heater. He's scored a goal already today, giving him 6 points in his last 4 games, and 10 in his last 11. He's up to 8 goals and 21 points in the KHL since joining Amur, and has the most U20 points in the league.

That is beyond impressive at that age in the KHL on a pretty bad team. Greb deserves so much more respect, he's genuinely a gem

This kid might honestly have a chance to be on the 4th line next year.

Hes got all the tools and is playing against men. Want him to start with the Marlies first to get adjusted to NA ice but man if he adapts we got a nice bottom 6 guy on our hands.

I’d want to pump the breaks a little bit. No questioning he has the size (6’2 183) and speed to be an effective NHLer. If he could be a version on Engvall only a much much better finisher, that would be awesome. But we are aways from seeing that, he will be 20 in Feb, will be interesting to see what happened tho. He has no contact for next season.

He has fit in really well with Amur, do they trade for his rights and sign him or do the Leafs sign him to an ELC and bring him over. 🤷‍♂️

I feel with how hes been once he get spots Dubas will give him his ELC next year. As unlike most of our other prospects hes got the size and strength to make some noise right out of the gate. I feel like we saw with one of our other prospects once their KHL seasons done bring him to Marlies via 10 day deal or whatever let him get used to NA ice and then we see what happens. If the transition is good and he has a good camp we could see a graduate at some point in 2024-2025 and a 4th line with himself and Holmberg wouldnt be bad

Really hoping to see a Grebyonkin - Ovchinnikov connection in the AHL soon. Not too sure if Ovchinnikov is returning overseas to play with the Marlies again at some point this year, but I really hope he does. Big fan of his play the first time around

He'll probably marinate for a few more years. Wouldn't shock me if he made his NHL debut at ~22

Gee, if he's a goal scorer, he could move up quickly to the Leafs top two lines. If these guys come over this season or next, lots of eyes on Marlie players. With possible Leafs UFAs leaving, lots of opportunities for some of these guys with the Leafs soon.
