Don’t adjust your eyes, not a repeat. Don’t sleep on Hirvonen. Gets his 2nd goal of the game

Can't wait to see him on the Marlies, such an underrated prospect

Something that gets lost in the Grebyonkin hype is his two-way ability, given our only viewing of him is his offensive highlights. I'm so excited for this kid, I really wish Ovchinnikov was given more playing time because he would be right there with Greb.

Lisowsky gets his 24th goal on the year.

I would suspect his teammates Tanner Molendyk and Egor Sidorov could be on their 23 draft lists. Both having great years and would think Lesfs scouts have seen a bunch on their games.

Moldenhauer with some nice moves in tight and slides a nice backhand pass. Nick has 39 points in 31 games.

The Knights must have really loved Gusftason in order to make the trade, they wanted to move up . Just wondering if the Leafs would have drafted in the Knights hadn't wanted to the trade.
Leafs had no guarantees who was available when moving down. Looks like a big win for the Leafs now. Let's see what happens in the next years.

PS. Nathaniel and others, always enjoy your posts.

Steeves gets his 14th goal on the year. With that assist, Semyon Der-Arguchintsev hit a new high for points in a season with 33 (9-24) in 40 games. His previous high was over 51 games (32 points)

I would really like to see him get another opportunity while Matthews is out. Let him have the 3C role. His puck-carrying skills are elite, he is a zone entry machine.

Just an unreal saucer pass from Moldenhauer, hell of a finish too from Celebrini.

Another primary assist for Moldenhauer, again, ridiculous finish from Celebrini.

Two point night for Moldy.

If Kampf wasnt so dependent on Engvall I actually wondered about him as 3c. As this year it seems those 1 on 1 lessons with Malhotra have worked as hes at 52% rn

Steeves would be interesting next to Kampf on the 4th line as maybe he could get things going

Now that we have had time to properly watch our 2022 draftees, I think Wes Clarke did an excellent job with his first draft. It was significantly different from the typical Leafs draft, but still went very well. Our previous Director of Amateur Scouting John Lilley also had a pretty good draft in New York, so I wanted to compare the drafts of the Leafs and Rangers. (* = Better pick)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TOR Pick #1: Fraser Minten, #38
- I'm a big fan of Minten. His compete, his shot, his IQ. He has so many great NHL attributes and currently plays center, a position that is extremely weak in our prospect pool. While Im unsure if he projects to be a center at the NHL level, he is a great pick and was a real dark horse for the first pick of Clarke's draft.

NYR Pick #1: Adam Sykora*, #63
- Fantastic pick to kick off the draft from NYR. I really wanted Sykora, he is an absolute animal on the ice. His effort reminds me a lot of a certain Zach Hyman while also having great defensive coverage. Annoyingly good pick.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TOR Pick #2: Nick Moldenhauer*, #95
- Great pick, easily one of our best offensive prospects. Huge fan of Moldenhauers game and was a big advocate for drafting him. Could not be happier with this pick.

NYR Pick #2: Bryce McConnell-Barker, #97
- Very solid two-way center. I was convinced the Leafs would've taken him leading up to the draft. Another very solid pick for the Rangers, but I like the upside Moldenhauer has more. BMB definitely has the higher floor, but Moldenhauer's ceiling is one I'd be willing to take a bet on.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TOR Pick #3: Dennis Hildeby*, #122
- Solid goaltending prospect. Huge overager but he has acheived quite a bit this season and has a huge frame. I fear he becomes more of a Mikko Koskinen than a definitive starter, but hey, I'm no scout.

NYR Pick #3: Noah Laba, #111
- Physical guy with ok NCAA numbers. Meh pick for the Rangers.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TOR Pick #4: Nikita Grebyonkin*, #135
- Super underrated pick IMO. I'm a big fan of Greb's game and he is torching the KHL U20 scoring leaderboards. Really excited to see what Grebyonkin's future holds.

NYR Pick #4: Vittorio Mancini, #159
- Decent defensive defenseman. Not sure if he projects to be an NHL defenseman, but he's got the tools.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TOR Pick #5: Brandon Lisowsky*, #218
- Super solid pick for the Leafs. Easily has an NHL caliber shot. Size is a concern, but not necessarily a limiting factor. Really like the upside here for a 7th rounder.

NYR Pick #5: Maxim Barbashev, #161
- Solid pick for the Rangers as well. Putting up respectable QMJHL numbers. He is a fifth round pick for the Rangers, and is about on-par with Lisowsky in terms of on ice value, however the Leafs using a seventh to draft Lisowsky is definitely better value.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TOR Pick #6: N/A
- N/A

NYR Pick #6: Zakary Karpa, #191
- Decent defense first center prospect. Considering his general lack of offense, he has decent NCAA numbers

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Leafs definitely had a strong draft, and I'm super excited to see what talent Clarke and Co. will put forward to Dubas in this years STACKED draft.

Nice pass from Ovchinnikov to setup the easy goal. His 4th assist in last 6 games. He has 5 goals and 12 points in 57 KHL games this year.

- “It’s never easy to put up points as a young forward in the Finnish Liiga, and Roni Hirvonen knows that all too well. But the 21-year-old Toronto Maple Leafs prospect has five points in his past four games, marking one of the best stretches of his tenure with HIFK in his fourth year in the Finnish Liiga. He’s third among U-21 scorers, and while HIFK has struggled to put up goals, Hirvonen has started to show some decent consistency. His significant pro experience will help for when he eventually heads over to North America, which could happen as early as the end of this season after signing an entry-level contract back in May.”

Hard to see how he was created with a secondary assist (might come off) but for now Hirvonen continues to add on points.
