Description

Couture has a 3 team trade list. I assume he would waive for Colorado. (who wouldn't)

This is what I would do if I were GM. Sell Meier. Sell as many pending UFA's as possible. Gather as many picks. Try to work a trade with another team for Couture.

I would sell almost every other player as well if a team was interested and had picks or prospects to trade. I can see a guy like Barabanov having value.

Timo Meier has 2 points (both assists) in 9 games this season. He’s not even getting close to that return if he doesn’t return to last seasons form.

The Isles do not have to dump Bailey, and most likely will not since Lou loves him.

Raty has been indicated as untouchable by Lou as well.

You'd probably have to eat the whole 50% for Colorado to even consider it, and even then...

BTW - even with a full 50% retention, Colorado would go over the cap

What about Couture 50% retained and a guy like Benning for D Depth for Girard?

You get couture 4m x 5 years and Benning is 1.25m x4 years as a 6-8th dman. So you get Vet C who can jump into the 2/3 role now and for many years. He can support Newhook quite well right now. And the depth D. San Jose get a really good dman for 5m x 5 years.

Kurz unfortunately doesn’t have the best sources considering most of his predictions/statements aren’t correct. Good writer though.

More credible people said isles tried to trade Bailey.

The term on Couture is too risky to take on. If he had 1 or 2 years left then id be interested but its a non starter with 5 years left at age 33

Kevin is a decent writer, he just has no isles sources.

Also Lane Lambert is a Lou puppet IMO and you better believe Lou had a role in Bailey being scratched , forcing him to play game 1000 on the road
