Horrid overpay for some players who are not difference makers. Plus there is a cap....Muzzin and Murray can't be wished away.

You shouldve just wrote... 'I have no idea who Niemela is' despite Niemela being the Leafs top prospect (and one the top overall prospect in the league)

Leafs' top prospect? Maybe. Among the top prospects in the league? Not even close. Niemela wouldn't even be top 5 in the Devils' prospect pool alone.

He's small for a Dman, so perhaps he never pans out, but as a prospect Niemela is rated among all teams prospects.

laugh Niemela might be top prospect in the Leafs organization, but calling him one of the top prospects in the entire league is ludicrous.

Chicago passes, Doesn't come close to getting Patrick Kane at 50% retained and Connor Murphy. Outside of Niemela and the 2 late 1st it's basically garbage.

I don't even know what to say on the jakob Chychrun offer, It's obviously nowhere near the asking price that Bill Armstrong is asking for.

First of all, you're not making the point you think you're making with that first part, and second he's legitimately not at all an A-Tier prospect. He's just not as good as you think he is.

NHLfan10506 listed a bunch of NJ players and prospects that Niemela would be behind in his opinion so that's why I mentioned him being small and potentially not panning out.

He might not be an A-Prospect to some but he is to others, that's why you will find him among some lists of top NHL prospects and not on others. For example, I saw him somewhere in the top 30 at the end of last season, but I didn't see him on a top 50 list for this season.

I personally don't really track prospects, who aren't in the NHL, but it's no stretch that he would be rated among executives, maybe most or some don't see him as a true A-Prospect.
