I didn't see what happen with Marner last night but what ever it was I highly doubt it would effect his trade value.

He cost the leafs 2 goals and Keefe singled him out in a timeout. So, he went down the tunnel and broke a stick, he was than benched for 2 shifts. Now I'm not condoning what he did but at least he shows emotion. Maybe if Tavares, Nylander, Rielly, Brodie, Holl, Kerfoot and Engvall would see Marner's emotion when he doesn't play his best this team might win some games. Every guy l named has been a leaf for years and show little to no heart or emotion when things are going wrong. Not the type of guys I'd want on my team.

marners still a top 20 player in the league, probably top 10. its not like he's going to go from well over a ppg player to a run of the mill guy. Marners an elite player and he absolutely cares the most about his play and winning on the leafs, that's why he gets angry. idk what's going on with the leafs right now but Marner still has massive trade value. the only thing that could tank his value is a bad injury that decreases his physical abilities.

Emotion with intention can be a positive tool to rally a team, but angry outbursts and losing control with emotion has the opposite effect. It robs a team of stability, calm and creates fear, making it impossible for guys to play loosely with confidence.

Marner puts up crazy numbers laying with Mathews, but I wouldn’t take him over Barzy, Dobson, Pelech or Sorokin. That being said it’s hard to compare across positions.
