For sure. Kerfoot is a guy that makes the top 6 better than Apples imo.

Kerfoot-Gus-Gagner is a great 4th line

Why? Toronto has a cap crunch and Maenalanen has been good. Why should the Jets do Toronto a favour and overpay for a rental. Logically there is no reason for the Jets to help Toronto out.

I dont see it as the jets helping out the leafs, I see it as the jets getting a very good player to add to their top 9 and making them a better team. Saku has been good for sure, but he's a 4th line banger.
watching the jets struggle through that vegas game showed me they still need more skilled players to drive offense...Kerfoot has proven he can be that guy and he comes at a really low price considering his historical value

I see it as overpaying to get a rental player when you hold all the cards and have no reason to overpay. If Toronto wants the cap space, then they take what the Jets want to give them or they move him elsewhere.

Its more for the Jets to get better than to help out Toronto

Overpaying for 1 year of Kerfoot doesn't do a whole heck of a lot for the Jets. He's not a difference maker this year for Winnipeg.

when its a given that a top 6 player will be down for numerous games this year(it just happens, thats all) its a great security blanket. Apples is ok but having someone like Kerfoot playing in his spot will totally make a difference.
