How long does a full rebuild take? Usually a perfect rebuild is 4-5 years. Dach would still be in his prime at 25-26.

2nd part is extreme homer vibes,

Man thats tough I say 5 maybe 6 years

As u got to hope prospects develop, find some guys that mesh with them, and find a goalie that can keep things stable

At least 5 years. Dach will be entering his age 27 or 28 season. Chicago needs everything, their prospect pool was awful.

I said in the prospect discussion thread before Dach was traded that Nazar will be a. top 5 player from the draft. He has everything you want in a top 6 center.

13 years and counting if you ask Buffalo lol. Sorry @Buffalofan

But he's not a Hawks fan though.

Dvorak in Arizona was criminally overrated it seems, and I fell for that trap too.

I wonder if this is why teams hesitate on paying a mega sum on Chychrun... (well his questionable health provides another risk)

That wasn't my point of the comment.. but I agree

Chyrcun injury history has been an issue. While the contract is nice (4.6mill for 2.5 years) the injury concerns have me like k we pay 2 1sts he gets hurt for 2 months then what or heck giving up Knies for him is an instant no.

I swear to god if we trade for him after I say this lul

Dvorak though idk maybe on a more offensive team he will dominate or maybe reunite him with guys he has had success with (Marner or Tkachuck)

Who knows.

.878 sv% is real special, on the other hand .952 sv% and carrying his team to a win is just average

Gotta love the reactions of the bearded fellow behind the goal. No hesitation. He stands up and walks out like it was any other empty netter.

I don't even mind Dvorak, he's not a 2C, but rather a good 3C, but he's not good enough to produce on his own. Our wingers are major problems.

Dvorak as a player is serviceable, but his cost was dreadful

Am I Biased for Thinking the flyers arent in such a terrible spot?
Are biggest concerns are Risto's Contract, Hayes Contract and Lack of Star Power.
Theoretcically a Champion ship team has a Star Goalie, 2 Star forwards and a Star Dman
- Risto can be easily Bought out and it not be too costly, GM's might also still value him for his style of play
- Hayes is a Servicable 2C for the Time being I'd argue he's only about a Mil and a Half overpaid. (5.5) Its the term that kills
- Guathier - Looks great in college - Flyers still very well could get a high draft pick
If Couturier plays we have a Star Defensive Center if not we have roughly 8 Mill in extra Cap Space.
I Dunno doesnt seem too bad to me.

Flyers' problem imo is that they're so mid. Aside from Gauthier they don't really have prominent prospects in the lineup, and their current players are far from groundbreaking (aside from Hart who's finally looking like the guy he was hyped to be). Injuries haven't helped them either.

Roster wise, I think Flyers is a step down version of what Vancouver is. Currently though Flyers have the better coach in there, since Torts can make virtually any team competitive since he has a way to squeeze every bit of juice out of the players, but history shows that his high-demand style will drain the players out, eventually. CBJ was a good example of this.

After the bubble playoffs, something went wrong in the locker room, which eventually lead to Flyers become an absolute mess with no direction, inevitably made worse by some very questionable moves from Fletcher. Torts was the correct guy to bring in to fix these locker room issues, but imo I don't really see the point in trying to fix a locker room who's quality is barely enough to fight for the 20th position in the regular season over rebuilding.

I don't see them as a playoff team any time soon, and Torts' playstyle will keep them from getting the absolute highest picks in the forthcoming drafts, intensifying their biggest issue of being so mid.

I could have sworn there was a rule where teams were only allowed ONE good prospect/player on their team at a time and that having insane depth was a bad thing.

Bring in Lucic, dump Hall. Bring in Puljujarvi, dump Eberle. Can't take Zegras because we already had 3 centers. Can't have Wallstedt because we had Skinner.

It's all brainrot in Edmonton. Thank god Bourgault looks legit.
