Schenn will probably resign anyways and you don’t get enough value in a Schenn trade then just keeping him

They might trade him at the deadline because he's a pending UFA but they will probably be looking for at least a 2nd. He's a big leader on the team and management has spoken very highly of him since they took over last year. Wouldn't surprise me to see them extend him rather than trade.

The "Canucks aren't trading Schenn" comments are out to lunch though. Certainly possible at the deadline (need a much better return than this though)

Good in room + stands up for young players + actually pretty good defensively + can be re-signed for cheap.

Maybe if it’s an overpay Canucks would accept but no reason to sell off on a player than can be a very useful transition piece to contender status
