In all seriousness, at the TDL, if Detroit is out of it, probably anywhere from a 2nd to a 4th depending on if he keeps playing as well as he has been.

Habs fans will disagree, but Eddy would not be that expensive because he's had recurring back problems (2 years in a row) since that playoff run that ended Price and Weber's careers.

Maybe a prospect at a position the Habs need help at like Goalie or RHD or a 2nd. No cap retention though.

Hes gotten a lot of time with Tanger. During games Sully shuffles the lines and POJ is out there with Tanger at least 3-5 times a game

Running price for a rental D at TDL is a 1st/ 1st+. Gavvy would fall in that line. PIT's prospect pipeline isn't that good, so not sure who might be added, if added.

POJ gets the Matheson treatment. He goes out with Tanger for Ozone draws because he has more offense to his game than Dumo. They only played 21 minutes together this season and the results are no goals for or against, and 50% in scoring chances and shots. It hasn't been a productive experiment.

I'd like to see Määttä given a one or two year extension. He has been instrumental in making Hronek look good this year and is playing a heck of a lot better than either Walman or Oesterle ever have in Detroit.

I want to see what we look like at the deadline and what a potential trade offer might look like first, but I would have zero issue with extending him. He has been a fantastic steadying presence and has made Hronek look like what we all hoped he could be and then some.

I wouldn't be opposed trying to run with POJ-Letang, Pettersson-Petrey, and Smith-Rutta until trade deadline. See how it's going and if it's fine then use that space for a big forward. If not I like Soucy, Scandella, and Montour (although I think he'd be expensive).

honestly, I've always liked Hronek. I would even argue that last year it was more his partners dragging him down rather than him playing bad, but the pairing this year with Maatta has been great.

For OP, Maatta may be off the table, but we can send you Oesterle.

If the Devils are out of the playoffs by TDL Graves could probably be had for a first.
If Pettersson has been playing anywhere close to his levels from last season I'd push for the Devils to trade Graves for him.
