No from Edmonton. Savard is terrible, his poor skating has only gotten slower as he ages. He can't defend the rush because of it. Honestly Barrie is better at defending now (and a million times better offensively).

Savard is terrible ?

Lol, he is far the best defensive defenseman for this season.

everyone on this site hates barrie which is rediculous considering he is a very good pp quarterback on a value deal compared to others whomake similar money.

ie gudbranson, ben chiarot etc.

I wouldn't be opposed to adding Barrie, but not doing so by substracting Savard who has been pretty good this year in huge minutes.

I've floated it a few times on this site, love to hear peoples input.
Pulji for Evans + 4th '23 (or 3rd '24)

I don't see Edmonton making major moves to our defense yet.

I could see Puljujarvi being an offseason target when a lot of our wingers are expiring, but I think the management would want to keep Evans around for the long-term. Pitlick who somehow got 37 points as a rookie last year could probably be available.

LOL, suuure. His 5v5 stats show that clearly:

21-22 with Savard ON: 40 GF - 63 GA (38.83 GF%)
21-22 with Savard OFF: 114 GF - 132 GA (46.35 GF%)

22-23 with Savard ON: 6 GF - 10 GA (37.50 GF%)
22-23 with Savard OFF: 14 GF - 7 GA (66.67 GF%)

I don't think it is that everyone hates Barrie (at least I don't) but the fit isn't there IMO. We are trying to get younger and harder to play against without giving up speed and skill (See Guhle, Xhekaj, Kovacevic, Matheson, Barron and Mailloux). Barrie would be a great add if we were going to be a cup contender in 1-2 years but our window is still 2-4 years out, by then Barrie will be either slowing down or retiring.

Just wanted to thank you for showing Barrie some respect. It's rare to see on this site which is rather unfortunate.

I think with Pitlick being LH it may not work, Edmonton needs more RH players who can also take draws.
I have heard that MTL is shopping Evans (or at least a RH Centre), but it's just rumours so who really knows.
