You may want Grit but you aren't getting it for that price.

Anderson would cost the Leafs a 1st + a prospect by himself, include a cap dump coming out way means an even better prospect.

So the Leafs would be looking at a 1st + Knies for Anderson if you want to include cap dumps

Montreal is not going to retain 1.5 million for 5 seasons.

Anderson has term but his value isn't that high, he has less points then Kerfoot in his last 4 seasons. & Knies is untouchable so you can keep the overpaid 3rd Liner

As Montreal doesn't want to trade Anderson and have reportedly (by Friedman, LeBrun, Seravalli and Dreger) rebuffed good trade proposals, you'd have to do better than two NHLers Montreal doesn't need and a 1st for Anderson with retention.

And the whole thing with Anderson is that it is not easy to find guys with his size, speed and shot combination. There's simply no reason for Montreal to move him in that kind of trade.

Why is Knies untouchable? That's like Habs fans saying Farrel or Roy are untouchable. Good prospects but still not sure things in the NHL

He’s untouchable cause of his play style, he is a power forward that looks destined for Top 6 minutes

So do they want to win now or in 4 years when he is ready for those top 6 minutes? The Leafs have a window here before Marner, Nylander and Mathews either leave or have even bigger cap hits, the pressure is going to be on to do something
