Just curious, do you have the Bruins protecting Colin Miller in the expansion draft? I think Kevan Miller is 100% protected by Boston, given his big improvements this year. He can play both side of the blueline, which Colin and McQuaid failed to do. He is slowly developing into a solid shutdown type Dman, who is able to play either blue line spot... Under contract for 3 more years at only $2.5 AAV. That is a player you have to keep IMO and hope they do.

Understand fans like Colin Miler, but it is just my hope Kevan is protected, and McQuaid is selected by Vegas.

Otherwise I like the creativeness of the roster. Heinen gets another crack on the line that turns your average player into a 15-20 goal scorer. Backes steadies the 3rd line, the 2nd line has solid firepower (though I am not sure they is enough to land Kane). I also think it is more likely Schaller is back at 900k, and DeBrusk is in Prov for another year.

Too much for one year of Evander Kane. Two solid prospects, one being a defenseman, for a head-case winger who could bolt after a season? Hard pass (even if it gets you out from the Beleskey deal). And note, if Beleskey returns to what he's capable of, you got absolutely destroyed in that deal. Bruins don't need Beauchemin. Debrusk may end up back in Providence, but he will get a solid look in camp and has a good shot to make the team. He had a solid first year and added onto it with a good playoff. He'll come in a bit stronger, and more ready for a pro-game. He already looked good back in his first preseason with Boston. I think it's his spot to lose right now, barring any offseason acquisitions.

Colin Miller is 5 years younger, showed improvement has speed and a great point shot...... Kevan's shoulder is banged up - multiple times, I'm not sure how much longer he lasts. We also get relief of $2.5M rather than just $1M. We need big relief potentially for Pasta.....unless they convince him to bridge????

Agree with you on Heinen. Everybody is putting JFK at 3rd line center, he hasn't even played pro hockey yet!!! Heinen is proving he should be given a shot - I think at 3rd line center given Spooner gets moved

I kind of agree. I would love to give him a shot somehow because of the talent. And I know there are rumours going around right now about that. But I hate giving up those 2 prospects. I like developing players and see what you have first. Bruins scouts are GOOD! I trust them. Management hpwever sometimes..not so much........ he is a head-case so that's also never good.....

100% no on that Kane deal. I'd give Beleskey, but no way I give up Gabrielle or Zbroil

They actually don't. They have cap space to sign Pastrnak to a long-term deal for 6-6.5M AAV. If they go bridge, it won't be b/c of money issues for the team.

Heinen has played wing, exclusively, since going pro. I don't see them using him at center anytime soon (if at all). People are writing in JFK as 3rd line center b/c he will be given a legitimate shot to win the job. Give him this offseason to get stronger, and he could very well fill that role. Having Backes with him would be very helpful.

Ok point taken. My point is I know they can fit Pasta, but then the cap is tight again. It's nice having $5-7M available (after Pasta signing) to make other deals if needed....not good being cap crunched all the time!
