Lol that Bunting contract.
Philly isn't giving that up without an extension on place.
Carolina isn't doing that.
Pittsburgh would almost have to accept that though.

Canes pass hard. Jarvis would be untouchable in a trade for Pasta, they're not doing it for Lindholm. They'll also extend Andersen if that's all he wants.

Rebuilds don’t typically include trading a core player and two firsts for a pending UFA. This is bad. Really bad.

Canes would happily let Jarvis go in a deal for Pastrnak. Pastrnak is the NHL's leading scoring after the McDavid Draisaitl combo. Jarvis would be lucky to reach half of Pastrnak's level.

No they wouldn't. Pasta's a great player. He's also expiring at the end of the year and is notoriously injury-prone. Jarvis is coming off a 40-point year in 60 games. Jarvis is a non-starter for Pasta.

That Bunting contract hahaha
I would die of laughter if the Bruins did that. Would be far and away the worst contract in the NHL.
Also you can't re-sign Pastrnak to an 8 year deal if you trade him away at the deadline.

Injury prone? Pastrnak has missed a total of 98 games over the past 7 years, not counting rookie year where he played a near full season but just split between NHL and AHL. This works out to missing 14 games a season on the average. Hardly anything to really cry about and especially not a good reason to say I'll take Seth Jarvis over him. Even if Jarvis never misses another game in his career and obliterates the ironman record, he'll still never come close to Pastrnak's point totals even with Pastrnak missing average 14 games a year. Just lunacy and a complete over value of your own prospects. Jarvis + a 1st isn't even close to getting a deal done for Pastrnak as a pending UFA.

To further debunk the injury argument. Pastrnak playing only half the year is worth more than a full 82 games of Jarvis.
Pastrnak's 1.8ppg pace would put him at 74 points in 41 games. Jarvis's career pace of 0.558 ppg would put him at 46 points in a full 82...

Tell me you don't know hockey without saying you do not know hockey

Jarvis is a 20 year old winger that has genuine PPG upside. Pasta is a stud, but he's a pending UFA. Missing 14 games a year means on average he only plays 68. That's fine and everything, but that hyrts his value. Compare that to someone like Sebastian Aho whose missed 4 games in his career with injury and roughly 6 more due to covid. Pasta dealing with injury hurts his value.

It's clear you don't know much about Seth Jarvis, but the dude has genuine PPG potential. I'm not saying he'll ever be better than Pasta, but to say Pasta only playing 41 games iw worth more than 82 of Seth Jarvis is COMICAL.
