I personally would do that Murphy trade. But, as Ledge_And_Dairy said, I doubt CHI more Murphy agree.

There's a very good chance CHI can get a low 1st for Murphy without even considering retaining. No way this is enough if CHI eats 50%.

I do not watch a lot of Seattle games but I feel like that's an overpayment for Oleksiak.

I am not trying to come off like a Habs fan trolling the Leafs but why do all Leafs fans think the issue with the Leafs is size, skill in the bottom 6 or their defense? The Leafs have one of the highest skilled cores in the league, they have some good young D (Sandin and Liljegren) with some good prospects coming. The issue with the Leafs is not toughness alone but comradery, watch a Habs game, even when they are losing they are playing for each other and the love of the game. The Leafs all seem to be playing just for a paycheck, sure a few of them (Mathews and Marner) show a comradery between them but it isn't as team oriented as it is in Montreal. If they can find a coach\GM who can bring the team together to play for the guy next to them on the bench instead of the money going into their bank accounts then the sky is the limit for them. It's just my opinion but I think the biggest thing holding back the Leafs is the GM and coach. They need leadership that brings this group together rather than isolates their top players from the rest of the team, again this is just my opinion based on the few Leafs games I watch.

You may be right about chemestry.... but wish they still had at least two BIG defensemen. The Leafs have too maany 'small skilled guys' on D. Lillilygrin, Sandin, TJ Brodie, Gio, Neimula. Imo, they could use some bigger, tougher guys to kill PKs and not let othe teams run arround in their end.

Yeah, I wasn't saying they couldn't use a little size just that it isn't their main or only issue.

LOL, no our group plays for each other. You need size on the backend for sure but also you need to have a group that has fun together both on and off the ice. Take a look at the Habs website particularilly the HabsTV section and watch some of the videos the Canadiens post in the sections down the page. Sections like "the lighter side" or " Le Chat" or "duel" where the players are interacting with each other. You can tell they are having fun, you don't see that on the Leafs site or in the media in Toronto.

Here is the link to the video's section, take a look at what I am talking about. The Leafs could really use this type of bonding, you can skip the video of MSL post game but scroll down to the sections I mentioned above.

Why trade for Jamie when he wouldn't sign here as a UFA?
