"Making fun of" is an extremely light way of putting it. There's a reason he never got an offer from a NCAA team

My understanding is that he hasn’t reached out to the kid and given him a genuine apology.

It’s one thing to make a mistake when you’re young and be remorseful, this guy hasn’t shown any remorse though.

How the hell is Sweeney and the gang supposed to explain this move to the masses? Sure, he looks great on the stat sheet, but that is nowhere close to overshadowing the fact he's living, breathing scum.

He was also 21 playing in the USHL. Those stats really mean nothing

In case you needed to be reminded of who this moron is, here is a snippet from Wikipedia:

In 2016, Miller and a classmate were found delinquent in an Ohio juvenile court on charges of assault and a violation of the Ohio Safe Schools Act.[4] The pair were accused and found guilty of forcing a developmentally disabled African American classmate, Isaiah Meyer-Crothers, to eat a piece of candy that they had wiped along the inside of a urinal, repeated bullying of Meyer-Crothers, and repeatedly calling him a n*****. Surveillance video also captured them kicking and punching Meyer-Crothers.

Really hope this degenerate heathen gets whats coming to him, he doesnt EVER deserve to step foot on NHL ice.

Don't forget. He REFUSED TO APOLOGIZE to the kid. But did to NHL teams!!!

Quoting: His
According to the Republic, Miller apologized to the then thirty-one NHL teams, but never to Meyer-Crothers or to his family.[16] In a letter addressed to the Coyotes, Meyer-Crothers' mother, Joni, found Armstrong's comments demeaning to her son, stating that while Miller's classmate apologized to Meyer-Crothers, Miller himself was unwilling to show contrition. A juvenile court magistrate in Ohio concluded that Miller had absolutely no remorse for his actions against Meyer-Crothers and was merely upset that his reputation would be damaged by the situation. As a result of the exposé, the Coyotes received widespread criticism for drafting Miller.[17] This ultimately led to the Coyotes renouncing their draft rights to Miller and cutting all ties with him.[10][11][18] Miller was subsequently dropped from the University of North Dakota hockey team on the direct orders of the university president Andrew Armacost. Miller was still however in good standing academically, and was allowed to continue attending classes at the university.[12]

More details about the bullying surfaced after The Independent published a detailed letter from the Meyer-Crothers family, reiterating that Miller has not apologized to the family, and detailing further accusations about Miller's behavior, starting as early as 1st grade.[19][20] These allegations include:

calling Meyer-Crothers **** in first grade
along with a classmate smacking and punching Meyer-Crothers on the school bus
repeated uses of the word **** against Meyer-Crothers
spitting in Meyer-Crothers' face
Miller maintains that his court-mandated apology letter was read to the Meyer-Crothers family.[21]

Awful story what I have read about this guy. However, he was a kid when it happened. Hopefully he's matured. The Bruins rarely takes chances on projects like this, so I am curious about what they see in him (both hockey ability and human character). Incredibly atrocious act against a disabled kid, no doubt, but a person's entire life should not be trashed by a bad incident in their youth.

The signing article indicates he eventually apologized. I mean, I would to if I was guaranteed to make $247,500 over three years. Definitely genuine from someone who has learned their lesson.

When he was drafted he apologized to the 31 NHL teams for his actions. But not the kid or kids family. This is not one incident in his early youth. This is an incident he did repeatedly as a kid and got repeated opportunities to show growth and remorse and failed to. Repeatedly. Over years

As of June 2022, he did not apologize and when he was drafted, he apparently showed 0 remorse and did nothing to make up for his "mistakes"

The only scenario I could be somewhat alright with seeing Miller in the NHL would be if his victim(s) forgave him for his actions and gave their explicit blessing to be alright with him pursuing a career in hockey.
This wishy-washy statement deflecting and downplaying the issue is woefully insufficient.

I'm willing to give people the chance to grow and apologize and all that. But the amount of growth/showing growth needed is proportional to both the heinousness of their crimes and in his case, how many chances he had to grow/show remorse and failed to do so. This kid needs to spend years volunteering his time and money and all that to fighting against the evils he did for me to believe he actually has matured

On top of every ****ty thing he did, his stats weren't even that impressive. He's playing USHL hockey against guys 2-3 years younger than him. Genuinely hoping someone takes his head off in the AHL
