The signing article indicates he eventually apologized. I mean, I would to if I was guaranteed to make $247,500 over three years. Definitely genuine from someone who has learned their lesson.

https://www.nhl.com/bruins/news/bruins-sign-mitchell-miller-to-entry-level-contract/c-337207364

I am being sarcastic to anyone who reads my post and is a little confused.

Isn't it technically $532,500? Signing bonus + AHL salary over 3 years. Kid could never play an NHL game and still bank ~$300K after taxes - the only thing he's probably sorry about is having to wait 18 months to start making that money because the Coyotes actually read the damn room after drafting him.

...press release led with a message from Miller himself:

“When I was in eighth grade, I made an extremely poor decision and acted very immaturely. I bullied one of my classmates. I deeply regret the incident and have apologized to the individual. Since the incident, I have come to better understand the far-reaching consequences of my actions that I failed to recognize and understand nearly seven years ago. I strive to be a better person and positively contribute to society. As a member of the Bruins organization, I will continue to participate in community programs to both educate myself and share my mistakes with others to show what a negative impact those actions can have on others. To be clear, what I did when I was 14 years old was wrong and unacceptable. There is no place in this world for being disrespectful to others and I pledge to use this opportunity to speak out against mistreating others.”

Comments today by Sweeney have painted a picture that Cam Neely was one who orchestrated this signing. Sweeney does not sound particularly thrilled to have Miller in the organization whereas Neely had a big statement on how Miller has worked with the organization up to this point or whatever.

Gotchu, that’s still a big yikes that someone in the Bruins organization is willing to stick their neck out for someone who acted like Miller…

I’ve hated the Bruins for years now, and I didn’t think I would ever hate them more than I did after they took out my hurricanes twice in a row. But here we are…

Sharks don't even have a rivalry with them and I always hated them. Note that hate is tenfold.

Hopefully him at 20 now will actually do the responsible thing and apologize fully for his actions, personally face to face apologize for what he did, make a full on media apology, and maybe even try and get something for Isaiah with his new money. I am all for 2nd chances. I will never condone or appreciate or respect what he did. He won't earn my respect until he man's up and does the right thing. If a second chance is given to him. He better damn well do the right thing. I know he was 14 and a lot can change, but if he actually does the right thing it could change his life for the better. And if he doesn't I just hope he gets dropped quicker than he signed.

Don't forget. He REFUSED TO APOLOGIZE to the kid. But did to NHL teams!!!

the refuse to apologize part is wrong. For some clarity his sentencing in 2016 was he couldn't have contact for 10 years. Which limits how he can apologize without violating probation.

I'm not impressed with an apology that twice in the first sentence whines the "youthful immaturity" excuse -- especially in light of the fact that the victim's family says that his misconduct wasn't a one-off occurrence but started in first grade and therefore continued for several years.

This guy has only apologized recently over an instagram DM. What a ****ty person. The bullying wasn't even something that happened years ago, it was reported by the victims mother that Miller was harassing the victim as recently as 2020. This guy should never be allowed to step foot in the NHL.
