Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Schenn, Luke
Additional Details:
It’s realistic to see him traded if the Canucks keep trending in this direction. I’m not sure on the value though

  3. 2024 5th round pick (TOR)

They need some more sandpaper for down the stretch - it’s what they lack every single year. Not sure what the value of these two players would be.

I don't think Foligno is available. That Vancouver trade at the deadline might work if Vancouver can fit Holls cap in. Probably need a bit more for Domi, Engvall doesn't hold any value to Chicago, Hirvonen is meh and the two thirds would probably get beat by one second.

To the specific leafs user: you have already done this proposal before and Bern told No! Why can't you understand no? Wild aren't trading Marcus foligno. Nor arey they taking on your nothing piece in return for foligno. Give it A Rest!

Nothing in that Wild trade besides the picks is of any use to Minnesota. Foligno is a solid C on an affordable 2x$3.1M deal, and if the Wild want to try and stay contenders this year & next he's way more valuable to them than some futures and an expiring Alex Kerfoot.

I don’t think he can be classed as a C when he took 20 FO’s last year… the trade wont help the Wild now but it does give them an overpayment for Foligno… would they even be able to sign him again with their cap troubles?

When he said C, he meant wild captain. He's not a free agent. 1st round pick is nothing consider Minnesota gm has shut it down before when Minnesota was bad. It would be like Minnesota asking for Matthews or Marner. Understand Np is no .they aren't breaking up their 3rd line

You offered a 1st round pick, 2nd , cap dump and free agent Kerfoot, & nothing. 1st round pick in 24 also. Dude Minnesota isn't trading foligno, he's everything to them

Shame on CF for not changing him to LW then - my fault for missing that.

Point is he's a winger who's had Selke consideration over the past 2 years (not an easy feat!) on an affordable deal - and while they might not be able to resign him when his deal expires, that same caveat would apply to Kerfoot. I'd rather have Foligno for the next 2 years and let him walk than have Kerfoot for just this season and have to replace that middle-6 hole sooner. The prospects are longshots, and the picks are less attractive for being next year and not in this year's solid class.

I don't think the value is bad, I just think it creates more holes for the Wild in the short term when most of their recent moves have been "win now" moves (MAF trade/extension, trading/signing for guys who can be kept at lower AAVs like Tyson Jost, Jon Merrill, Jacob Middelton, Alex Goligoski, etc)
