nope, let that contract be somebody else's problem. If they want to retain maybe, but they won't and we shouldn't want him at 5M with term

murray can be bought out next summer with a 600k penalty. the choice is really easy, also kerfoot is better than poolparty right now, this trade makes 0 sense for the leafs

Hes not leaving Edmonton lol. Also whats up with all of the Campbell hate guys? He has let in some bad goals but the defense is 90% to blame for those goals. He is gonna be the oilers starter for the next 2-3 years and im happy. He makes some big time saves that give us so much momentum. A shaky start is not gonna get Jack traded.

no hate for campbell, i like him as a person, but he isnt a clutch goalie and will never be, has problems with pressure but its okay, im glad he got the bag for himself and his family, now hockey wise, he can stay in edmonton, im happy with samy.

You can have Blackwell for pretty dam cheap but the hawks aren't adding any picks and if Toronto wants to dump holl they'll have to pay to do so.

well the hate is that he's not a 5M with term level goalie. Even last year in his best season to date he wasn't. Love Campbell, but he should be paid tops 4M on shorter term. Hasn't been good this year but that's not even what I'm judging the contract on.

These guys have never met Ken Holland, clearly. He's not going to overreact to a slow start by Campbell. There aren't any legit rumours.

It sure didn't take long for Oilers fans wanting to run Campbell out of town. LOL

But if the Oilers go on a winning streak he'll be called the best UFA signing of the summer.

Gotta love recency bias.

I watched a Red Wings game around 2 weeks ago where Devils fans were chanting "Fire Lindy." Now the Devils are one of the best teams in the NHL and Ruff would get coach of the year votes if the season ended today. LOL

But we'd get JUSTIN HOLL! What a deal!

You know he's good because every TOR fan floods this site with mock trades where they're trying to get rid of him.

The Leafs valuation of Campbell did not match his own and both parties moved on. Better to stick with him because while I don't believe he's a 5 million dollar guy, he's better than the 0.874 save percentage he has this season.

Murray could very well be a dud but he's up next offseason.

This guy is very clearly a Leafs fan. Save your criticism of Oilers fans for when it's warranted.

I work with 2 die hard Oilers fans. They've already given up on Campbell. I told them to relax. We're not even a month into the season. Oilers will just outscore most teams anyways. 2 Oilers fans don't represent a fanbase but I just find it amusing. I'd kill to have McDavid and Draisaitl playing for the Red Wings and all these guys can complain about is a struggling Jack Campbell.

That's fair, I see it too. But it doesn't belong here on this Leafs fan's thread.

Jack Campbell 8 games in Edmonton

0.874 SV and a 4.20 GAA

And Oilers are stuck with that for 4 more years after this one

RIP that deal

So no thanks as at least with Murray we only got to deal with it for a year and a bit.

8 games isn't near enough of a sample size to judge the deal on lol.

In any case, Campbell is in the range of Quick, Fleury, Gibson, Nedeljkovic, Blackwood, Binnington, Demko, Swayman, Petersen, Merzlikins and Grubauer. I guess those guys are all on "RIP" deals too?

It kind of is. He is looking like the Campbell from last year after January and if he continues thats a concern

Like Skinner has looked better which is a concern rn. Like if this keeps up Skinner gonna do to Campbell what he did to Anderson. And while hes up there with those guys none of them are what I call good starters anymore or are in a rut as there teams defense often causes problems for their numbers (aka Demko, Merzlinking, Grubauer, Gibson, etc)

Honestly still surprised Holland didnt go get Kuemper as he tried trading for him last year then had the chance to get him via FA. Guess the soup was to good in the kitchen
