Wowzers just for fun if a rebuild happens

Created by: noobmaster69
Team: 2023-24 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 8, 2022
Published: Nov. 8, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
We draft Bedard of course.

Have the right pieces to compete. Top C in Bedard, top pairing two way D in Power. And hopefully a legit goalie in Askarov.

Hope 2 or 3 of the remaining first round picks turn into 2nd and 3 line talents in a couple years to compete.

Well I know Buffalo isn't doing that, not for two years of Matthews even with taking Skinner.
Edmonton might consider that actually. Would be cool to see.
Nylander I wouldn't even consider better than Johansen so that's a no go, even the cap savings aren't really worth it for that package.
Detroit doesn't even consider, we have a bunch of talented left handed defencemen in the system and our right side is full, need younger options there. That package is far off for them.

Sabres absolutely can NOT risk trading Power & then having Matthews walk in 2 summers
If we could work out an extension with Matthews, then ok
But can’t do that till after this season

Nylander's own mother doesn't value him that much. That's an easy pass from NSH, even if they were in a position to be buying rentals.

Marner trade is really bad lol you could argue the 2024 1st = dumping Barrie + retention...that leaves 1st + Yama + 3rd for Marner.....

i would also think 32/32 teams take Nylander over RyJo

Johansen > Nylander is a take
