Is this lineup not setting them up to succeed? Lol, I don’t get that at all. I think it’s very fairly balanced in this un-realistic scenario. I don’t believe for one second that Lambert’s handling of Wahlstrom with the 8-10 min a night is teaching him anything. He should play at least 14-15 mins a night in a top-6 role to grow, not be pushed down with Martin and Cizikas, that’s not his game, so why even bother putting him there in the 1st place, same goes with the other young guns.
Ok you wanna do this fine lets start.
Iskhakov-barzy-wahly iskhakov is like a mini barzal and doesnt really make sense to play with 13 considering theyre both much better with the puck than without it, and then you add on top of that a 1 trick pony in wahlstrom. This line is going to lose 95% of its puck battles as well as having 2 small great skating playmakers along with a shooter that cant consistently find room. Not to mention barzal is probably the best out of all 3 defensively and is also bad at faceoffs. So as long as they have the puck this line will be ok but once they give it up or theres a stoppage theyre f*cked.
Lee-nelson-dufour is gonna be a much better line as they have a proven combo with 27-29 but for the same reasons palmieri never works on this line dufour wont either. Hes way too similar to both lee and brock that all he brings is redundancy but doesnt fill any holes that pair has either. This line has too many scorers and no creators as well as its way too slow and will also struggle defensively.
Beau-raty-holmstrom im fine with this line.
Parise-cizikas-palmieri no young guys.
Pelech-dobson fine but not sure why they arent with their regular partners.
Bolduc-pulock its fine if we dont care about the games, otherwise this is wasting pulock.
Romanov-mayfield this is a disaster. 2 defensive guys who can make a solid 1st pass but cant handle the puck great they should never be put together ever.
Not sure why he didnt run P&P Dobber and romanov and then have bolduc with mayfield.
