Why on Earth would the Blues even consider that?

You think Faulk is going to keep this up for 5 years while the team tears down? After his last decent year he was traded for Edmunson and a 7th

He was traded for Eddy and Bokk, who was at the time an A-/B+ prospect. And Faulk has been excellent notndecent the last 2+ seasons for us. And this teardown talk is wildly premature at best. Meanwhile, Dumbarton is a fading UFA, Portillo is not needed and a 2nd doesn't even begin to make up the value difference. Faulk isn't going anywhere and certainly not for an offer that does nothing for the Blues except clear cap for a replacement who will cost more than Faulk.

I think Portillo would greatly benefit STL

No from MN. They have no need to trade Duhaime and nothing of interest is being offered.

Why do BUF fans think we're trading for (and giving up assets) in exchange for players on expiring contracts...lol.

And STL would never do that trade. Portillo can bolt before ever signing a contract. Dumba is going to be a UFA. So, basically, a 2nd round pick, for Faulk?

For Duhaime, Weissbach is a ppg player in the AHL for a grinder

The point clearly isn't to keep the expiring contract

If they keep him until the end of his contract they'll be lucky to get that. Faulk is going to drop off in ideal conditions. Other than some offense, his numbers are dropping off now, and offense doesn't make a good dman

Ahl means nothing. Duhaime has been on roster since his rookie season and cheap. Minnesota isn't trading him for some nobody

Then why do you wanna trade for him?

And not just trade for him, but give up Mitts, Rousek, Portillo and 2 2nds.....for a player that is "going to drop off in ideal conditions"|

Are you trying to tank again?

In what world does trading 5 assets for a player that is "going to drop off" make any modicum of sense?

The Blues are well stocked in the G prospects department. And Portillo is decent, but no better than the two kids the Blues already have in the AHL.

Heh. You don't actually watch the Blues much, huh? Faulk has been the most consistently reliable defender at the back for a while now.

He can be reliable and have numbers drop. If he wasn't reliable why would anyone trade for him

Sabres don't need him to score they just need a reliable dman

I like Duhaime, but he's a 4th liner, ironic calling Weissbach a nobody

Faulk has struggled maybe the last five games or so. Five games of kinda struggle isn't enough to qualify as dropping. This too shall pass. Meanwhile, Dumba the UFA has been dropping for a few years. This trade is not gonna work, no biggie. It happens.

Blues will go in a retool not a rebuild. and who knows Blues have made a complete turn around before.

Joel Hofer and Colten Ellis are better prospects Portillo is a sweetener that does nothing.

So? MN needs no more small FWDs. Rossi, Shaw, Dewar, Jost, and Steel are 24yo (or younger) small FWDs in the NHL and would be a ppg winger in the AHL. They'll keep their grinder.

Devils would want back another forward prospect or developing goalie back. They think Tyce has top 6 upside I think
