Who the hell trades 8th overall for a player that has 20 career points and a 2nd rounder? Are we being serious here? Or what?

Does Quinn play C? No. PK? No. Better on the PP? No. Quinn is 21 years old and has 7 points. Mitts is 23 and has 89 pts. Sure....Blocking Quinn?

Krebs is 21 and has 25 points in his career.

BUT SURE....the guy that is 5th in ice time is blocking the way for guys who are 11th and 12th in ice time.

Quinn HAS played center, this was brought up already. Your right, he doesnt play PK and while I know the stats dont back this up, Quinn IS better on the PP. He opens play up to more than just the PPQB and the guys on the dots.

Again, why is points the dominant argument? Quinn cant get points if he gets unreasonably benched all the time, which is literally blocking.

Krebs cant get points when his line is typically checking.

Mitts hasnt earned that much ice time, what he's earned is a spot in the press box. Also why are you using ice time as an argument when the entire discussion is that both of the guys arent getting enough ice time?

Talking points again, is Joki better than Samuelsson

Yep and I answered for you....less than 8.3%. My point stands.

You literally said you were going to ignore the second rounder. Those were your exact words.

I never said at any point that the sabres should do this trade. All I have been trying to argue is the second round pick have value.

We're talking about Forwards, not D-men. Sorry for not clarifying.

And if we're talking about blocking players ice time, wouldn't it just make a little bit of sense that the 10th guy in ice time is blocking the 11th and 12th guys.....compared to the 5th guy?

It makes sense when the 5th player in TOI stinks 9 games out of 10. Only other guy who should sit for a while is Okposo, which he's doing now because he's injured.

And I told you a 2nd rounder has a 8.3% chance of being better than Mittelstadt.

And I'll add that Duhaime has a 0% chance.

Did you smell him or something? Miss his nasty goal against VGK? Misread how he is one of the best PP and PK guys in the league?

Or you just say he stinks because that's what you have in your head?

I'm waiting for you to actually show me some proof that he "stinks"

9 points in 7 of the games. 0 points in the other 7.

But sure, makes total sense to remove the guy 5th for the guy 13th. That's how it normally works....right?

That's exactly how someone would run a business too, right? Let me remove my 5th best employee so I can make room for my 13th best employee. LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

I agree. But 2nd round picks are still valuable assets in todays NHL.

Sure, i guess
How “valuable” can fluctuate greatly though
And like i said before, for Buffalo, a late 2nd in this upcoming draft has LITTLE value

It's funny because second round picks absolutely have value. JJ Peterka was a second round pick and he looks great so far. Getting a second for Casey would be insane, because Mr.Fortnite is probably only worth a late third or early fourth. It would also give Buffalo FOUR second rounders this year, which could be used for a variety of things.

Nonsense
Having three 2nds already is exactly why another 2nd would have LESS value than normal to us
We already have a packed prospect group, & won’t be able to sign all the draft picks we currently have as it is
We don’t need (or want) more draft picks
Especially not a LATE 2nd rounder
We turned down an early 2nd rounder from Philly to take JVR

Brett Murray 6 points in 21GP
Duhaime 20Pts in 90 GP.

You just wanna throw away a top PP and PK and FO and defensive forward.......

For someone we already have.

No but Luke Kunin does, a guy who plays with grit and tenacity and can slide into the middle six and provide secondary scoring, and is sound in his own end defensively and kills penalties: If I’m giving more time to Krebs and using Kunin in my top nine, he does make us better. Duhaime is also an additional piece for the fourth line and is a Swiss Army knife player who can fight and kill penalties. Brett Murray does neither and is skates at the speed of a glacier. He’s not an NHL player.

Who the hell thinks Mittelstadt has played at the level of an 8th overall pick. He’s played decent, but I have a question for Craig Button here: you’re making the case that Mittelstadt is a top 15 player in his draft class based on just points. Can you trade Casey Mittelstadt today for a top 15 pick? Even if he finishes with 53 points, can you do that?

No you can’t.

Umm, why would I? Players that can score 53 points are hard to come by. Guess how many did last year? I'll wait while you try and guess and somehow think you are smarter than you are...

53pts is good for 100th in the league in 2021-2022....basically the best 2nd line player you can get. BUt sure go ahead and trade him for a 2023 pick that maybe has a chance of getting 53 points by 2028.....lol.

Native language is English by the way, and you never said it.

But goodnight, good chat. Hope we can chat some other time.
