Pettersson has been paired with Letang on the top pairing recently because he’s a hell of a defender. I don’t think we’d want to move on from him right now.

Pens are weaker on their D since they got older by adding in Petry and OEL if he was traded there.

Letting go of Marino who is a proven player wasn't a great choice as well.

RIght now, Pettersson is our best defenseman. OEL is a more expensive downgrade, and this trade has the Pens adding. If the Pens accepted this, it would be one of the worst things Rutherford has done to this team, and he gave up a 1st+ for Kasperi Kapanen.
