Here's how you fix the trade values: delete the whole thing. And Binnington has been a victim of the losing streak, not a perpetrator. He's about the last player to blame.

Ducks have zero reason to move Comtois, he is exactly the kind of player Verberk wants. Ducks decline.

I've seen a lot of truly bad trade offers for Max Comtois, but a 27-year-old AHLer and a future second is the all-time worst.

There really isn't a way to balance the Comtois trade. Something like a 23 2nd round pick and maybe a B/C prospect would be market value for him, but the Ducks won't move him for market value.

Anaheim is in the midst of rebuilding and are trying to put together a young core that will grow with the team. Comtois fits into the young core with his age and team control, he is big and physical, and is rediscovering his finishing ability. A team that is building on their young core does not ship away their young players for futures.

If you want a player from the Ducks, the available options are Henrique, Silfverberg, Shattenkirk, Kulikov, Grant, Carrick, and Klingberg. Maybe we would part with Stolarz as well.

Bennington’s decline since his good rookie season has been steady, I don’t think the Sabres would be interested- not at $6mil for 5years
You’d have to hold half his salary, & even then we’d likely consider only giving up a late round pick
I’d expect other teams would feel similar about him
He’ll likely be pretty tough for u guys to move bc of his poor play & that contract

Comtois had a bad season in 2021-2022 due to serious injury. The season prior, he was 16-17=33 points. Think of him as Mathieu Joseph, only 2 years younger and a heavier hitter. He's a prototypical power forward who's burning to show that last year was only an unfortunate fluke. Would you trade Joseph for Chase deLeo and a future second?

Our two teams have similar needs. I can't see Anaheim trading Comtois unless the Ducks get back a quality defenseman, and I can't see Ottawa trading Joseph unless they get back a quality defenseman (preferably Rh).

Mind you (and this is especially for my Anaheim brethren), I don't think and I'm not saying that Comtois and Joseph are comparable.
