HAHAHAHA a little tinkering to TJmac22 wouldve been enough that trade is laughable now.

Laughable? Brodin and Dumba are bonafide top 4 defenseman in this league (top 2 on a lot of teams) and former top 10 picks. Pominville has some of the best possession and Corsi numbers for the minutes he plays in the league and can easily pot 40 points a year even as a 3rd or 4th liner (just has a bad cap hit).

Markus Granlund is a 3rd liner at best on the Wild. Virtanen, former 6OA pick has played 65 games in the NHL and has 14 points and almost spent all of last year in the AHL. Juolevi is a former 5OA has yet to play a game in the league and is slated to return to the OHL next year. 5OA this year is a shot in the dark.

So no it's not really laughable. Vancouver is receiving 3 players who will easily make a large contribution to Vancouver starting next season while Minnesota is receiving a 3rd liner in Granlund and 3 MAYBE's. Maybe Minnesota adds a Tuch or Haula or Greenway, but this deal is far from laughable.

I'd ask Vancouver to swap out Virtanen for Boesser.

Brodin and Dumba are worth Boesser, Juolevi and the 5th OA pick, and Pominville is probably worth Granlund. If anything, pull Granlund from the trade and have the Wild keep $1.5million of Pominville's salary.

You never truly know with Vancouver, but I think they're actually ready to rebuild the right way. This would certainly make them better now, but it's not nearly enough to make them a contender and would take a huge bite out of their prospect pool. This doesn't fit their timeline at all.

The deal that makes sense though would be Hutton/stetcher, Virtanen and 33 OA for Brodin and Dumba.
Boesser Juolevi and 5OA are untouchable. Canucks need help up front which they can get at 5OA. Pom doesnt fill the "youth movement" need but is serviceable.
