Salary Cap Mode: Basic

Description

1) The Rangers get an effective Winger on the cheap, who's UFA at the end of the year.

2) The Rangers pick up cheap Defensive depth with a reliable veteran.

3) The Rangers shed Reaves and his Cap hit, which are both unnecessary.

4) The (Retooling, Resetting, Rebuilding, etc) Canucks pick up a much needed 1st Rounder in a quality Draft.

Kuzmenko is probably worth about a 2nd, right now. Schenn no more than a 4th. And the cost to dump Reaves is probably around a 4th. A quality 1st Rounder (even it being the lesser one) should roughly equate for all involved scenarios.

Taking on Schenn and dumping Reaves won't break the bank. I'm sure any sweetener needed to complete the deal wouldn't be astronomical.

Hard to see the Nucks turning down a 2023 1st. 2023 picks are rising quickly in trade price just as some tdl candidates could.
