To be clear, Vancouver could do better trading them separately, and to contenders.

What is Buffalo going to do with guys on short term deals who will exit their primes soon?

25 is not young in the NHL. And he will be 26 in 3 months

He also needs a new contract and as arbitration eligible will hold leverage.

Buffalo also has a ton of wingers under contract

Makes no sense for buffalo.

VAN fans probably want more compensation

Sabres fans will tell u that there’s no way we are trading Samuelsson, he’s become the perfect partner for Dahlin-
we didn’t sign him to a 7year deal to trade him

And we’ll also tell you that trading for forwards we’ll have to give big contracts to is pretty unlikely considering we’ve been stocking up on good forward prospects

The trade just doesn’t make a lot of sense
