So... Price, a goalie likely to never play again, in exchange for Murray, just about to return to the ice.. then, Guhle for Brodie, and a Muzzin likely to never play more than 30 games a season ever again .. then, give up Caufield and Drouin for Jarnkrok..

Martin St. Louis vetos the trade. He won't let them trade the only guy on the team that's shorter than him!

More seriously this doesn't do anything to improve either team it's just swapping a bunch of players for the sake of swapping a bunch of players.

I am pretty sure this trade significantly improves Toronto and makes Montreal considerably worse

Guhle and Caufield are the 2 best players in this deal. Add to that the fact that Toronto improves just by dumping Muzzin and Murray then gains about 13 mil cap space and this is an easy win for the Leafs. Unfortunately for Toronto Montreal bursts into laughter at the mere mention of Caufield or Guhle

Agreed. They're better than Brodie and Jarnkrok.

Price is on LTIR and may never play again. He gets paid a lot more than Muzzin for a lot longer too. In fact Price gets paid about as much as Muzzin and Murray combined for twice as long. Drouin is no prize either. He's a cap dump too.

Price's contract is by far the worst of the bunch, followed by Muzzin, then Murray and Drouin are about equally bad. So yeah Toronto gets the 2 best players in the deal but they also take on by far the worst contract in the deal.

I would agree with that except for the fact that Price is never going to play again so it's actually not a bad contract to aquire for any team since it allows them to exceed the upper cap limit by 10.5 Mil there by essential gaining cap. We saw teams like Vegas actually pay for those types of contracts when we traded them Weber.

Toronto is getting about 13 mil cap space since Price is on LTIR for the duration of his deal, therefor Price's contract has value as opposed to the other three's. Therefor the Leafs aren't getting either Caufield or Guhle since they are the ones "dumping" cap and will therfore have to include a top prospect to Montreal

Suzuki veto the trade and say no way that is buddy Cole Caufield goes out. Do this trade and you kill Montreal all together. Suzuki/Caufield are probably 50% of Habs offense presentl so that a no trade.

Suzuki / Caufield / Guhle / Xhekaj / Dach / Harris / Savard are probably the intouchables presently for mtl. They are to important to even think trading.
