I doubt we trade Jeannot or Fabbro. I would rather trade Ekholm on D if anything. That Saros deal is well... uh.... interesting to say the least.

Preds need to trade their players with value so they can re-tool. Don’t have a top 6 center on the team, something needs to give

I might be crazy, but I'm not that high on Fabbro. Can't imagine a team paying a 1st for him. Also think Saros gets more.

RD usually get overvalued so who knows. You could be right on saris, that could just be the base of the deal. NJ could add a 2nd rd pick or something. They just need a young top 6 center with upside

Askarov has bad AHL numbers, but that could be a product of their farm team.

I wouldn't be looking for a prospect of need in a Saros trade - just get absolute max value for him.

He’s still very likely to be a franchise caliber goaltender. Askarov is 2 years away from being an NHL regular

Oh I’m a big fan don’t misunderstand me. I’m just saying I’m not sure how open Russian guys r to playing in the AHL. Rangers always have trouble with it. Isles did to.

They don’t have to worry about Askarov going back to Russia, especially when you consider what happened to PHI top goalie prospect

Tough to say - goalie trades are so unpredictable. They usually don't go for as much as you would think, but you also rarely see a guy like this hit the market. With his age, talent, contract (both cap hit and term - and NSH could/should even consider retaining)... I absolutely think they could reasonably ask for two 1sts and a prospect or something equivalent.

That’s the value I’d want to see for Saris for sure.

They don’t need to trade their young talent… if anyone goes it should be Ekholm, Duchene, McD, or Nino. Plus we totally have 2 top 6 centers, Granlund and Johansen. What are you talking about there?

Fabbro , saros and jeannot aren’t young.

Granlund is carried by Duchene and Forsberg. Johansen is a 3rd line caliber center at 5v5.

Jeannot is just entering his 2nd year. Fabbro is 25 (pretty young). Sarai is young for a starting goalie plus trading him is a stupid idea. No other way to put it. Granlund is great on PK and was incredible in MIN too. Johansen literally has driven the 2nd line. We have evidently been watching different teams.

24 and 25 YO is not young. NSH won’t contend for the foreseeable future so it makes sense to sell high on assets in their prime.

Granlund is a 3C being carried by two 1st line wingers. Johansen . Disagree on Johansen

Why not sell on older guys then that could fetch value and not younger guys that could be foundational pieces. Jeannot is in his 2nd year. He isn’t young, but is still developing. Fabbro is one of the younger options you’ll find as a NHL-ready RD.

Because the Predators need to get high end assets. None of their older guys will return that. Ekholm , Duchene, Johansen have very little trade value. Preds need to re-tool or rebuild

You just said Duchene was an elite winger, so doesn’t that mean he has value. Plenty of teams would give us a 1st for Ekholm.

His contract and age lowers his value significantly. He would return a 2nd or 3rd rd pick.

No one would give a 1st for Ekholm. Look at what Petry got in return

With two tears of sustained production Duchene’s contract isn’t bad. Ekholm would totally get a 1st. He’s younger and better than Petry. They’re semi-compatible at best.
