I didn’t realize the Sabres have so much cap space. I wonder how strong they’ll push for Patrick Kane this summer. Would be cool to see

I think there's enough center options coming, we just drafted 3 "centers" in the first round this year. Plus, I forget where I just saw this, the 2023 draft has 28 A grade prospects- 2 goalies, 3 d (probably all left shot, since that's what we don't need), and the rest are forwards. Draft another A grade center, especially if that's bpa. Pushing all of our chips in on a long horvat deal sounds awful, I think the guys calling the shots know better. At least I hope they do.

Whats not to like about Horvat? Whats a reasonable contract to sign him to? He is top 10 in the league in face-off percentage which we struggle in, he scores goals, has size, and is left handed. The above centre core would be unreal...

If we get Mayfield, I don't know that we would keep a $2.5 mill scratch in Joki, even with what we're seeing with our Def injuries this year?

Yah, I wasn't sure there. Figured we have money for days but I guess he'd want ice time to prove himself for another contract even if thats with another team. I would prefer to trade him and have Dahlin, Boosh, Mayfield on the Rt side

Yeah, hopefully 1 of our young C will pan out, but I think we need depth scoring. Kane could help, but we have to see what JJ, Quinn do the rest of the way.
